It doesn't. It actually has nothing to do with it. It's about saving someone. That's like saying that when a doctor checks your chest, you are doing 2nd base, which of course they're not.
Like, context people?
I'm putting this on Entertainment and Arts because I see this trend a lot in TV shows, movies and books.
Ahh! The idea of being kissed in such a unique way without the person saving them ever knowing they are directly kissing them, only to save their life as well! A lifesaver and a free kiss! That's two for one right there! How romantic <3
Let's be real here; I swear the only reason the media encourages this, especially in teenage drama or love stories is to add a bit more romance for their audience that's not stale or unoriginal. Most people I'd imagine wouldn't go this far out of their way to endanger themselves just to be kissed by someone they love/admire. That's just purely recklessness in my opinion unless the drowning was accidental.
I'd think a pure kiss comes from someone who loves you very much and wants to show their affection/love towards you with that, not trying to save your life with no romantic intentions in mind for that moment. Logically from your point of view, this all makes sense and I question why you see it in media every so often. I just hope people are intelligent enough not to actually consider trying this and only see it as a good laugh for a show/movie! What if you get "kissed" by someone that's not who you wanted? You're in for trouble at that point xD

It truly is ridiculous, they aren't the same but my theory is that since they are linking lips, people have decided to call it the same thing is lips come into contact with another persons lips but it isn't kissing T_T
Like you said, it is dependant on context, CPR isn't just putting lips on another persons lips, it is much more so therefore already is denied being called kissing but also the situation you are in when doing this is to save someone, it isn't a casual or romantic action, it is the matter of saving or maintaining someone's life so that they can live another day, it is nothing alike -_-
Sorry for ranting, my bad ^_^ <3
Oh gosh, that nonsense 🙄
First off, it's not. You're just giving a person rescue breaths.
Secondly, nowadays it is VERY rare to give direct mouth to mouth. You're actually advised not to do that to a victim unless you know them or they're a relative due to the risk of contacting a disease or who knows what from a random stranger.
Instead we use a mouthpiece that goes over their nose and mouth so you don't touch their lips, or if that's not an optional, don't give them breaths, just chest compressions until help arrives
*From a certain CPR instructor
I agree with you, it's kinda weird that movies and tv have turned it into that.
I haven’t seen this in any television show or movie yet

Some people may think that CPR counts as kissing due to the nature of the procedure, which involves applying chest compressions and rescue breathing to the victim to restore blood flow and oxygenation to the body.
Since mouth-to-mouth breathing involves the transfer of air from one person to another through the mouth, some may interpret it as a type of physical contact similar to kissing.
As for the media, there may be a number of reasons why CPR is portrayed in this way.
On the one hand, it can be a way to simplify and explain the procedure in a way that is easy for the general public to understand.
It can also be a way to make it more engaging or emotionally resonant by presenting it as heroic or even romantic, which could lead to more interest in the topic and the importance of learning how to perform CPR correctly.
However, it is important to note that CPR is a serious and vital procedure that must be performed properly and effectively to save lives.
It is important not to trivialize the procedure or confuse it with a romantic or sexual act, and to ensure that you receive proper CPR training so that you can perform it effectively in an emergency.
Probably because it's permeated from everywhere that it may be able to be considered a kiss, even if due to the very nature of CPR, the person is unconscious and unable to give consent. Hell, you get news stories that go, "Couples first kiss was when she gave him CPR." In addition, the American Heart Association has done several studies that indicate that CPR works just fine using hands only, without mouth-to-mouth.
I must have mist this one. When did giving, "mouth to mouth", aka, "rescue breathing", become, kissing?
Coz you know!
Some people take advantage.😂
May be so...its a dumb tv thing, its not real; they dont even breathe into your mouth anymore. It's all heart contractions.
It's mostly considered jokingly. It's even on Seinfeld.
Mouth on mouth = kiss
Don't overcomplicate things.CPR kissing. Okay
