To be honest, I really like them. In games, or anime. I'm a visual creature too. However, sexy characters are not suitable for all storylines. If there is a girl in bikinis in Home Sweet Home, that's ridiculous. So yeah... it depends.
Most of us like people who look alike ourselves. Right? (Even in this case, it's a character) I am naturally curvy, but could be chubby compared to the majority of women in my country where "slim" is a main beauty standard. For cultural reasons, we shouldn't wear too much revealing clothes. If I wear something baggy, no one can't differentiate whether I have curves or actually overweight. People would just say I'm fat. Men and women. I wouldn't like to show my skin on social media too, so they can't see. Only when I eat right and workout enough, I'd be more atheletic. That's a kind of body type of females in many games. It feels nice to know that my figure is appreciated by somebody else apart from men in my country. (They normally don't work out a lot like westerners do. And they don't like women who look stronger than them.)
And these characters are uncomparable to girls sexting with some guys they barely know, or posting provokative outfits for attention. That is self-objectifying in my opinion.
People complained about Tifa in the new Final Fantasy 7 remake because she has DD boobs, wears a tube top. She has fought her whole life, is a master fighter, fiercely independent, compassionate, but she's not allowed to look good, and be physically desired by men, because to objectify women, despite the fact women stare at mens butts, abs, muscles, and other features, is wrong.
I like it! They are beautiful/gorgeous! I wish people really looked like that in real life! Not boring and going to work all the time! Haha, okay I'm kidding but seriously, it would be cool!
@Daniela1982 Excuse me? ! I'm not anonymous, this is my real name but I am just shy with putting up my picture online! Jesus! Does EVERYTHING have to be a fight with you? ! Okay so you don't agree with my comment? Were you commenting on someone else's answer? ! Because I don't get it!
Well it's usually in fighting games that they wear skimpy outfits and that applies to both female and male characters so females shouldn't get too triggered. The chicks that play these games get to see barely dressed guys too.
At the end of the day, game developers only create these characters to wear practically nothing so they'll play the game more to try stop guys from going out and getting real girlfriends hahahaha
Designed by men for men. Don't like it, but unless I'm designing a game aimed at women, where I'd have the guys in g=string fighting gear, I can't change the community.
I'm fine with it, I still remember laughing as me and my brother watched our dad make Lara Croft's boobs jiggle in Tomb Raider 1 lol. And that was the 90s! What's worse is when a dev has clearly tried to pander by totally covering up all the females and nerfing their physical beauty in every department (ie: Mortal Kombat 11)
Exactly, people are too busy complaining about anything and everything that they overlook the sheer creativity needed to create these things. I'm glad to have a positive view on this for once.
More importantly, I think people are not trained enough to face their problems instead of throwing them on everyone else, blaming society or another big group, basically shouting at the sky. If people chose to face their problems, they could solve them and the world would be much more positive and less filled with anger, rage, outrage and judgment.
It makes her sexier and bustier than these women we see in real life. Honestly no women gonna satisfy a man like these game women can potentially do. I prefer game girls than these whiney bratty little wanna be adult women who ain't mature and can't control their hormones any day!
Normally I'd say the costumes female game charcters and super hereos wear are impractical and far to sexualised compared to men and that its not necessary and most feminists would back me up but then when you look at women athletes, women in clubs and women at the gym are wearing it seems that women sexualisw themselves.
It doesn't necessarily bother me, I think they can get a bit over-the-top and off-putting, not that it would stop me from playing a good game, or cause me to get any less enjoyment out of it. honestly I would just prefer if character designs seemed practical and made sense within the universe the game is set in
Clearly, those games are targeted towards men! π Otherwise, the guys also would lose armour as the levels increase... π€... clearly the gaming industry is missing a market here!
As a female gamer, I absolutely and totally love it 😍! Like when I play mortal Kombat I would much rather play Princess Kitana rather than Frost. Plus they make the best Halloween costumes!!! β€οΈ🎃
I play SC6 and the men are ripped, can be shirtless, etc. I love the customization, and people who are against sexy women/men should look to Mortal Kombat's violence.. which is horrifying. Sexiness is great!
I disagree with the whole idea of "sexual objects". Humans are innately sexual and can't help but see each other sexually and like what they like. That being said, I think skimpy outfits have their place in fighting games without much of a plot. If it isn't for children there should be no restrictions for this sort of thing, they should be able to make what they want, for a public who wants it.
Simple, If a girl is going to be skimpy and hot with really big breasts then I want the exact same thing for the male characters, not just less clothing like the last picture but actually somewhat sexualized.
No. It takes the ultimate projector to be offended on behalf of a fictional character. Video game characters are not real. They are completely fabricated. If you find their circumstances objectionable then you have no sense of reality. Their circumstances are just as fake as the characters themselves and so is your outrage.

It's uncommon for a woman to see this as a positive thing, I'm really curious as to why you like them.

Hmm, I see. Interesting perspective.

Exactly, virtual world and real life are distinct and the "rules" are different.

leave it to an anon - what the fuck!!

sure its your name. I got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell too.
@Daniela1982 Okay? What's wrong with you today? You used to be nice lol!
Yeah, I know - that time of the month - sorry
@Daniela1982 Thats a cop out stupid excuse. a real woman doesn't use that to get out of being a bitch

Like I replied in multiple opinions, there are male characters with revealing outfits in the same game as the female character in the picture.
Really? Their booties hanging out? In banana hammocks?
From the same game as the female character in the picture : www.avoidingthepuddle.com/.../...06_1531988514.png

It's awesome! Male characters are also like that. It's a game, it's supposed to be unrealistic!
YES! I'm glad to see there are women like you who understand these simple things! Thank you !
It bothers me a little like. In fighting games, you should be wearing protective gear. Or something that is effective or convenient for the situation.
The picture example alone is a good example for me getting triggered. You see she wears barely anything but it seems to be snowing where she's at.
How about the 2 male characters pictured in the update? Do they "trigger" you too?
Kinda, ya it still doesn't seem effective haha
they should all be dressed like Jon Snow
I'm not grossly offended but I find it extremely silly, especially in fighting games.
I understand why itβs silly and annoying but at the same time I think their outfits are creative and cool looking
Ooo I think those male outfits are cool too. Personally I like these games because of their fantasy and creative aspects and not for being realistic.

Society is not very liberated lol

Youβre optimistic lol
I would rather have hope in our future than looping that we are doomed in my head.
Big mood

I find it quite funny tbh 🤣 especially when female armor gets less and less covering the higher level it is
lol really puts things in perspective
Clearly, those games are targeted towards men! π Otherwise, the guys also would lose armour as the levels increase... π€... clearly the gaming industry is missing a market here!

https://youtu.be/iWe6VMbbly0Doesn't bother me in the slightest.
Hell, even women like it, if you look at the cosplay.
And I noticed most of the skimpy armor characters are coming from Japan, and they dgaf!!! lol.
