I'm huge fan of the Hellraiser franchise so I definitely am going to pick Pinhead. I've watched the entire franchise countless times. Some of them are better than others but I still like them all anyway. I like the representation of Hell and the dynamic of pain versus pleasure.
Runner up is Frank Zito from Maniac (2012 and 1980). What makes him so terrifying is how realistic he is. He represents the brutality that could happen in real life in regards to serial killers and frenzy murderers.
i saw that 2 years ago! elijah wood is so under rated and under appreciated by mainstream hollywood and the public, he is amazing. did you even see him in cooties? its ridiculous and funny
Agreed! Super underrated. He was great in Sin City as well. Never seen Cooties but I shall check it out!
Who are you calling Pinhead?
@JesseJayNeak LOL, he def was the first horror guy into bondage
does the Blob count?
sure, i loved it with Steve McQueen
definitely an overlooked classic horror film/monster. I just like it so much because it terrifies people without having to include a buttload of blood and guts, and gruesome deaths. It's the most basic thing... but it's coming for ya. lol.
very true, i used to watch it with my dad

I'm gonna go with Angela from Sleepaway Camp. She more or less killed campers who deserved it rather than going for innocent victims
Well i wouldn't see him as a Villain but John Kramer Jigsaw, The other one who tries to copy him that cop guy who get's what he deserves in the end was for sure a Jigsaw that was a bad guy.
John himself was quite a smart man trying to make a good point and help people that wouldn't be accepted by everyone and just seen as bad.
Although he wasn't the smartest since... you could accomplish what he was trying to do much easier.
But he showed incredible understanding of human psychology and may have opened a new dialogue to the world if people were more on his level of thinking and not so much just looking on that instinct gah people died = him must just bad without a actual smart reasoning or good point behind it.
There is a major reason why the guy from the very first film ended up following in his footsteps. And there is a major reason why amanda young also does.
Again what he did wasn't full effective tho and could of been done much easier without the deaths tbh. But i chalk that up to human error on his behalf.
Rather than he just enjoyed killing people or inflicting pain, though i do imagine in someway he found building the traps themselves was a thrill to him and clouded his judgement.
Then for a simple answer on just a villian, Tiffany would be my choice always like a Goth girl who will kill for her boyfriend.
Dr. Schreck aka Dr. Terror ("schreck" is German for "terror") in "Dr. Terror's House of Horrors". He was played by Peter Cushing who later played Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin in "Star Wars". I'd show the trailer but it doesn't adequately describe this movie at all and is, in fact, misleading.
The premise of this anthology horror movie is that 5 men get on board in a carriage of the London-Bradley express train. Another man, Dr. Schreck, joins them. He has a deck of Tarot cards which he calls his "House of Horrors". He then proceeds to tell each man's future with the cards. The 5 futures of the men form the 5 separate stories that are the bulk of the film. Each future does not go well for the men. However, in each case, there is also an alternative future represented by a single Tarot card which is the next card in the deck. Each time, the "next card" is the Death Tarot card. The one used was very similar to this one:
Very near the end, after the last man's story is told and they realize that all their alternative futures are "Death", the men get upset and challenge Dr. Schreck for his future. He skips his story and goes straight to his "next card" which, of course, is Death.
Christopher Lee's very uptight character blurts out to Schreck:
"Why have you done this!
What do you want!
WHO ARE YOU!"
To which, Dr. Schreck, slowly turns his head to face him and coolly and very creepily replies:
"Have you not guessed?"
At this point, you should realize who Dr. Schreck really is and why he is the ultimate villain.
You can see the whole movie for free here:
Put me down for "Other." Specifically Damian Thorn from "The Omen" trilogy.
To be sure he is not the scariest looking. However, he is the most interesting in that he is based in actual theology and therefore has a certain, for lack of a better term, depth of character that the others lack.
The others have no motive or at least fairly superficial motives. Damian - the anti-Christ - has motives rooted in theology and mythology that make him interesting to watch and, in context, scary.
Yup, kind of an odd choice. However, I still think of them as among the best of the horror movies along with the original "Exorcist" movie.
Out of those listed it's a tie between A and E. Though Michael was better much better in the first couple movies when he was simply a being of pure evil with no clear back story. As for my favorite horror movie villain, it would be the Event Horizon ship. The ship was used for a engine that could open the space–time continuum. Once you start jumping into astrophysicist, you quickly realize that we would rather deal with aliens then screw around with something like the space–time continuum. Hell there video of a black hole scratching and pulling in a stair. But people are still scared of aliens.
I’d actually say Michael Myers.
Why? Well, he’s mortal/human.
He’s psychologically deranged, but also cunning/thinking.
I like that he is not invincible and can be killed, but the savagery, cunningness, and dominance he has in most situations against many of his victims makes it seem as if he is invincible.
The mask he wears shoes very well what he is.
A cold, emotionless void of a person.
Have you seen the movies? He is IS invincible, in part 1 he got shot 6 times, in part two (and the new 2021 movie) he survived a huge fireball from a gas explosion, in part 2 he as well took two.44 magnum headshots like its nothing, in one movie (dont remember which) he got shot at by at least 5 police men and blasted with a stick of dynamite and survived. After each movie he came back to life
Well, we know the movies give him plot armor, but the character himself
is just human.
Not like Jason Voorhees who is essentially a zombie
Or Pinhead
Etc.
I'd still say he is not really human but of course more human than Jason. Also the depictions vary, like Rob Zombie's Micheal was truly a human, in the older movies (except part 1) he seemed more like a terminator on a killing spree, in part 5 he was defined to be something supernatural. With Jason its the same, in the first movies he was almost human too, then he was more a zombie and in one movie he was that parasitic worm creature that could turn anyone into Jason
@Fromdusktilldawn even covid can't stop michael myers though he must have one hell of a good insurance plan, lol
he would eat covid for breakfast
What makes him cool to me is that he CAN be killed.
But he is effectively depicted as invincible even though he is shown to be human.
Have you seen Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2007?
The fight between him and Joe Grizzly in the restroom? One of my favorite scenes
yea, where he is that funny kid with the long hair, in Zombie's movies portrayed him more like a normal human who became a killer because of his rough childhood in his second movie Michael even really dies.
I liked Rob Zombie’s Halloween
It was just savage, gritty, and dark.
His Michael Myers was also Tyler Mane, a beast of a man and professional wrestler.
Scream is my favorite slasher film. Ghostface is my favorite movie villain. What killer calls their victims and kills them? At the end of the scream films when the actual killer is being revealed is my favorite part of the movie and what their motive is. Of course, it has to do with Sidney's mother and there is always a new story about Sidney's mother in every movie.
Jason is my favorite. He doesn't fuck around (I mean waste time and stuff) l he just kills people. I'm not really into horror movies but I watched the first few of his movies one day for no real reason and it was fun. The old style of the movie, it had something simple and wholesome to it. Even though it was a horror movie. Kinda like Final Destination.
Voldemort
For me whenever Voldy appears in the scenes of Harry Potter, the movie becomes horror movie to me
Once my sister printed that pic on a paper and showed it to me at midnight just the day before Halloween...
I was sleepy but when I saw the creepy face without a nose, I was just shocked and screamed for 2 straight minutes...
Still scares the hell out of me...
The Terminator from the original Terminator movie. And also the Liquid metal one from the second movie. Watching it the first time around, they seemed relentless and invincible, with no emotions at all.
T-1000 is the name of the liquid metal villain. And I wouldn't consider this "horror".
@Wraith_Cemetery eh im not fancy, ill allow it, its all good
Clown Pennywise from „It“ (1990 film)
Jack Torrance from „The Shining“
The Alien from the „Alien (s)“ series
tim curry was everything in that
I love watching Horror movies, I will be watching the new Michael Myers for Oct 15, 2021, and the preview shows Michael in a burning house and someone wants to save him and they keep yelling let him be... The Peacock Channel will be showing the new Michael Myers
I can't think of just one. Maybe I'll comment on this when I remember. But I think umm yeah Ghostface was alright because that helped created the satire parody scary movie series. But umm who else. I can't think for some reason briefly hahaha too much else in my mind right this moment lol sorry
if you have that much on your mind why did you answer? SMH
I guess I'll just say Ghostface. 😜
lol.
Not necessarily my favorite horror movie villain but Freddy Krueger immediately came to mind.
I choose Jigsaw. He has a purpose when he chooses his victims. The other villains, yes they are entertaining, but they have no real motivation other than to kill.
thats true
Michael Myers. And on October 15 we're gonna see him again.
I know it looks good! i love seeing original cast members back
I second that.
I love Jason Voorhees. Friday the 13th Jason Lives and Friday the 13th from 2009 are so entertaining.
I gave Leatherface some luv :)
I made that.
nice
thanks. took months... many all days and all nighters.
i bet, nice to see more creative people on here
thanks. working on a adult game, too... though, I need help from others. I got the ideas... but the actual art and storytelling and scripts are kinda outside my area of expertise.
Ghostface cause he's a funny clumsy mf and he's real so he can die. I can't stand villains who never die
