I think for me it's a collaboration between The Simpsons, Community and Doctor Who along with a few action cartoons I watched when I was younger.
Action cartoons like The Spectacular Spider-Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Batman Beyond really shaped my love for animation, storytelling and comics. I sometimes go back time to time and watch a few simply to relive some happy childhood memories.
The Simpsons was really influential on me. I didn't have Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon when I was younger and sometimes cartoons would never be on except for The Simpsons. As I got older, I really started to appreciate the writing, voice acting and love of the show. It's brilliant. The early seasons are engrained into my brain which shows how great and funny the show was.
Doctor Who was also a show I loved when I was younger but I kinda zoned out after Jodie Whitaker. Just before the lockdown last year I decided to rewatch the show and I fell in love with it all over again and saw many episodes I skipped as a child. The show is hopefully something I'd like to take part of when I'm younger whether it's a small acting or writing role. The show is just really creative and engaging. I love how it balances sci-fi and history, it's so good and perfect escapism.
Community was a show I watched a few years ago and I love it. It was the show that made me want to become involved with Film/TV. The writing is top notch and the characters are brilliantly written. The show is able to tackle so much concepts and works them into the 22 minute sitcom format effectively. One of the funniest and smartest shows I've ever seen. #andamovie

I think the biggest one was The Shield. Originally titled Rampart, it was inspired by the real story of corruption in the Rampart district's anti-drug unit of the Los Angeles police.
I originally overhead my brother watching it, and I assumed it was an R-rated movie, because the story and dialog was so gritty and genuine-sounding, rather than dumbed down like most cop shows had been to that point. I immediately started watching it and it was incredible. It also ended its 7-season run perfectly, finally resolving the issues introduced in the very first episode. It's my favorite TV show of all time.
Honorable mentions go to Breaking Bad and it's prequel Better Call Saul, Sons Of Anarchy (same writer as The Shield), and HBO's incredible Deadwood, about the town's gold rush history. Of course, I have to mention The Wire, Dexter, and the Sopranos.
When I was a kid, I used to watch a Chinese tv series about an ancient government official who practiced justice and punished bad people and I loved that tv show. I also loved care bears when I was 6 because I believed the care bears taught me to have compassion for others. Watching Barney and the dinosaurs when I was a kid motivated me to become a creative writer when I was in high school. Watching world vision fund raisers on television motivated me to want to help others and changed the trajectory of my goals and purposes in my late 20s to 30s. And watching the news taught me to care for the environment more.
Not many. They're almost all entertainment and little more.
But Thirtysomething is hands down the best drama I have ever seen on TV in thirty+ years. It was about life. Real life, written and performed poetically, with heart. So it (life) doesn't seem like a shit show that's pointless. That's what I like, need.

When I was a kid there were quite few shows with wholesome role models.
The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show had amazingly sophisticated comedy.
The Twilight Zone was always entertaining and often contained good food for thought.
When the Beatles were on Ed Sullivan it kind of changed my life.
I saw some good bands on American Bandstand and some other shows, too.
The Smother's Brothers and, later, Rowan and Martin's Laugh In.
In my teens and 20s, there was Saturday Night Live and Second City TV. My friends and I always watched a show called Fright Night with Seymore, too. He was great and he showed movies that were so bad that they were good.Wasn’t on the, we didn’t have a tv growing up, we were to broke for it, but whenever they was able to go to the local library I would watch The AngryGrandpaShow and Mcjuggernuggets YouTube channels, by far the best skit series channels on YouTube at the time. AGP passed away unfortunately, but both are legends in my book.
Also when I eventually did get a tv at 17, I watched ghost adventures, I love the history, acting and paranormal stories on it. I too have had some situations and encounters that I still can’t explain to this day. So it’s a relatable show!not technically a tv show but Death Note, the anime as gotten me into anime. i still haven’t had time to get deeper into it though so i need to get more in it of course.
I watched the Brady Bunch a lot while growing up and it made me desire to have a big family. I’m no longer interested in that, but it was something I wanted for a long time.
The X-Files had me start watching tv for a specific show. Mini movies every week. That and Northern Exposure, which was ahead of it’s time, so funky I love it. Both great shows.

I don’t know. I haven’t really given it much thought. TV Shows come and go all the time. Nothing lasts forever.
