For me:
At the age of 18, the movie Xmen 2 hit so hard to my soul that it made me feel for the first time in my life that adults who truly understand us, do exist. The movie wasn't just about comic book heroes figjting villains mixed with superpowers. Its about adults learning the hard way the consiquences of their actions and decisions they made decades ago. All the adults in my life and all their actions combined hasn't come even close to delivering the feeling of true understanding. can't explain it.
Then there's Gridiron Gang. A true story about a prison staff rehabilitating young criminals into trustable, non criminal members of the society. They did so with the language and elements of football. This movie is so underated and whats even worse is how little recognition the people got, that the movie was about. This movie made me, inspired me to study youth work.
Both of these films showed the sensei, teacher, mentor figure that sees potential before failure, from a mile away. Never had that, delivered the way I needed or wanted.
