The hardest is Christian Comedians because they can't use sex or fuck , or Damn in their material and I have seen many that could still make you laugh.

I think Eddie Murphy was the funniest way back when he was younger
Bev Hills cop movies were great and my fav is with Nick Nolte in 48 HRs.
Yeah those are classics
The Mr. Rogers skit is pretty good too. The actual Mr. Rogers had a good sense of humor about it.
@Whatthefluff I don’t remember that one but I imagine it was funny
MR Robinson's Neighborhood. Well got to go boys and girls , the police is at my door
Redd Foxx was brilliant.
From Physical comedy , to voice control, to the way he said something and looked.
He knew his audience. If in a bar of sinners , he was vulgar. If on TV PG rated humor. These guys today can't do that. They must say Fuck a 1,000 times and size of penis and size of tits 100% of time.

This one's tough. I'd say it depends on what type of performance they do.
I like Eddie Murphy and Richard Pryor in comedy films (Richard Pryor is more funny when he's starring with Gene Wilder).
Redd Foxx is great on tv, especially on Sanford and Son with Demond Wilson.
Chris Rock is good on both movies and tv in my opinion. He's really funny when he plays Caretaker on the Longest Yard movie and he's pretty funny when he narrates his tv show Everybody Hates Chris (my favorite comedy show in the 2000s).
I still say Red Foxx, hands down, the funniest black comedian I've come across and unfortunately I doubt there will ever be anyone that reaches his caliber. in my opinion
Sanford and Sun, to date, is one of the few shows that would have me in tears.
love that show , the plane ride to inherit money was best show. Remember Moose?
The choices cover many years, and comedy has changed over time, in particular what people think is funny and what is acceptable.
For his time, I'd go with E-Flip Wilson. He had his own TV show that included all kinds of comedy (as well as other entertainment acts), and his Geraldine was hilarious, as well as pushing the comedy envelope at the time.
He was good and that show was popular. Johnny Carson loved the guy.
Sinbad
I started to list him , but the others had more longevity. I thought Sinbad was funny
He is also mixed
Good point. I love him. He's hysterical.
Sadly, you forgot one, who unfortunately has been struck from history, but in his day, NEVER swore and ALWAYS made me laugh, Bill Cosby. I can never forget his Fat Albert routine!
I never liked his one man shows and now we know what he really was which to be fair all the others harassed women too. Well most of them.
i think r. pryor got all of the jokes in first so he's best. dave chapelle is definitely second. funny though, i never liked him as an actor
Definitely Martin Lawrence. There was a time I liked Eddie Murphy.
I was always a huge fan of John witherspoon. He was hilarious in all 3 fridays and was great as the voice of grandad on the boondocks.
Chappelle, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, and Patrice O’Neil.
Rock is ok , Chappelle is just not funny. He can barely be understood
You can’t watch the Rick James skit and say that seriously.
I think all these are funny in varying degree. I have to add Dave Chappelle too...
Katt Williams
Roy wood jr
Bernie mac
Cedric the entertainer
Paul Mooney
George Wallace
Aries Spears
Josh Johnson (dude funny asf)
you are too young to know who the great ones were
Paul Mooney is one of the greatest
Dave Chappelle not being on this list completely invalidates it.
And I'm not even that big of a fan of him. He's funny, though.
I think he sucks and nothing he does is funny
@888theGreat
Then you're admitting your list is biased and you only want people to answer who YOU think is funny, which defeats the entire purpose of a poll. Might as well just made all the answers your favorite comedian then.
Like I said, I am not the biggest fan of Chappelle, although I don't dislike him, either. But I do think he's in the top five of Greatest Comedians of all Time. Or at least, the Greatest Comedian of the 2000s (2000-2009), like I did in my question on this last month.
Who is the Greatest Stand-up Comedian of all time? ↗
Chris Tucker (very funny ) You have to laugh at him and his faces.
Dave Chappelle
"It's always funny until it happens to you."
That is a tough one. Chris Rock was the top guy when I was into stand up so it is hard not to say him but the guys who came before him were pretty funny too.
Definitely Flip Wilson! "What you see is what you get."
Chris Tucker or Eddie...
Either Pryor or Chappelle
What about Dave chapelle or Kevin hart
Neither are funny
chapelle is the goat
Hell yeah Eddie Murphy.
Bill Cosby.
Even your mom says so!
Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor and Chris Rock.
Patrice O’Neal.
Martin Lawrence
Dave Chappelle.
Patrice O’Neal makes Dave Chapelle look like a saint
Patrice O’neill
One, to be the best people have to know who you are. I had never heard of him until now. Two, he was on two shows really. The best are everywhere and all over the country. So, he would not even be considered greatest.
One, you not knowing comedy is irrelevant to the truth
two, patrice was literally everywhere but again, you just never saw him.
to add to my last comment Patrice O’Neal was considered by many big comedians to be the best comedian and they wouldn’t go on after he did so on the roast of Charlie sheen Patrice O’Neal had to go on last.
Patrice was more controversial than Dave Chapelle is currently. His one hour HBO special was called the elephant in the room because he would talk about shit that no either comedian would touch
I bet if I asked 100 people who he was, maybe 5 would know him. If I asked if they knew Richard Pryor was, more than half would.
Just because something is popular doesn’t make it good.
Just because something is uncommon doesn’t make it bad.
The kardasian’s are trash and everyone knows them.
Not many people know scientist who make the world better and yet they are amazing.
I got to see Patrice in philly a few months before he passed. God dam was that dude funny. Fuck cosby.
@Sweepthelegjonny You mean vulgar stuff. Again anyone can do that. It takes no creative skills at all
Im not looking to argue. I think we have different senses of humor and definitions for vulgar content.
Dave Chappell
Richard is the OG
