When rap first came out.

The only people who listened to it were legitimately dangerous.

Aka actual gangsters. And the people making the raps were just as free spirited.

Ok fast forward 30 years... its the number 1 music genre.

The only people still making rap music aren't free spirits. And the people listening definitely aren't gangsters.

In other words it isn't even the same crowd of people making and listening to the music.

Hence its dying.

Your first two sentences are false.

And the reason any music dies out is because the people who produce music favor catchy music that is easy to produce. Rap is hard to write and hard to perform and so finding a skilled rapper that is also likely to sell records is hard. Whereas finding a dancing model you can plug in to auto tune with an auto-generated lyric and melody is really easy.
