Is it okay to read children’s books as an adult?

So I’m 19 and I love cartoons and cute, children’s stuff e. g. dolls. I’m not like your stereotypical girl where they cosplay 24/7 and want to act as a kid, I just love cartoons and children’s entertainment.
Another thing about me is that as a kid I used to read a lot. It stopped near secondary school ( middle school) but again got back to reading and then stopped. I’m now a first year pharmacy student and it’s hard to balance Reading with my revision and work from uni, but I’m trying to get back to reading again. My question is I love reading children’s books but necessarily the baby ones, more along the lines of “Ever after high”, “Thea Stilton” etc.

If people said it wasn’t ok, what would you do? Would you just suddenly stop because of outside opinions?

I wouldn’t stop but it would kinda hurt and make me doubt things but I don’t think it would make me stop watching cartoons or reading children’s books :)

That’s what I figured, in which case I’d say don’t go looking for ways to hurt yourself or fill your mind with doubt. Watching cartoons and reading children’s books isn’t harming or hurting anyone, it isn’t wrong, so don’t make yourself feel bad. You truly don’t need anyone’s validation, life is too short so live it how you want and be happy🙏

Hey if that's your reading level hun that's your reading level. What are your favorites. The ones with the trains on the back?

My philosophy in life includes 'why care what someone else thinks as long as it makes me happy and I'm not hurting anyone?'. Just enjoy yourself and read whatever makes you happy, even if it is a picture book.

I enjoy reading good literature, regardless of genre of intended age. I know people who are in their 50s and beyond who still enjoy "kid" and YA books

The books I’m referencing are more for tweens or books that have been made from cartoons
