Like is she just a petite girl, or are we talking more like Thumbelina?

I would imagine Bernie Taupin was inspired by a groupie, as they followed and sometimes joined the bands on the road. “Blue Jean Baby, LA lady, ‘seamstress for the band’.” That term always stuck out to me.1

How do you know the "Tiny Dancer" is female?
Elton John is gay, you know. Maybe he was actually thinking of a tiny MALE dancer like a ballet star like Mikhail Baryshnikov. He's only 5' 6" tall...
You must've seen her
Dancing in the sand
And now she's in me
Always with me
Tiny dancer in my hand
Elton John lied back then because, then, it was not cool to be gay and "out".
Not sure how that changes the fact that the song was clearly about a female. Freddie Mercury was into dudes too, doesn’t change the fact that fat bottomed girls is about girls.
Good point! ;)
Anyway, I voted "Tiny Dancer" just like the image which is like the song lyrics.

God help us with whatever question you ask after hearing KISS's "Calling Dr. Love" on the drive to work.
Bernie Taupin wrote all the lyrics.
