What festival does your local area have?

Just recently here there was a strawberry festival. The town where my parents live will be doing their watermelon festival soon. How about there?

We have lots of fests where I live!

From food fests/street fests to carnival type fests and also, strawberry festival, blueberry festival, and peach festival.

I always have a good time going to any of them. 🙂

My community's current generation is just far enough away from being rural that it no longer has crop festivals, but it does still have a recently rural, small-town feel, with super-great free-to-the-public music-gathering places, frisbee-playing places, good restaurants, streetside pie and BBQ kiosks. All kinds of great semi-rural stuff.

That's not quite the same as a good old strawberry festival, though.

Or an ice-cream meetin', either, for that matter. I've been to a few of those. Wonderful memories.

The biggest one is the eisteddfod, which is music and poetry thing. It attracts roughly 160,000 each year.
This month there's a cider and sausage music festival at one of the local castles.
