Hell no, I hate new country. My dad was in bluegrass and country bands when I was a kid. I always liked the bluegrass but didn't like country until I was in high school (except Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Patsy Cline. I liked them since I was little)

It's formulaic. Lacks originality. And yes, the beats and guitar work are like watered down rock with some acoustic guitar and peddle steel thrown in to give it a country feel.
And guys from places like New York and Detroit writing songs with bucolic lyrics about pickup trucks and corn fields, and singing with fake, country twangs. 🤢🤠

The only country music I’ve heard that is new is mason ramsey and he’s really good and he sounds country to me so I don't know

Some of it is traditional, but some is borderline pop.
