The Rolling Stones are on tour next year. Is it ironic it is sponsored by AARP?

I wonder if they can still perform. I wouldn't mind seeing them. It's probably the last chance. I've missed too many of the old bands and regretted it after it was too late.
The Stones won't be quite the same without Charlie Watts. He was cool in an odd sort of way. I imagine their concerts will be pretty expensive. I also imagine that any of them could kick the bucket before the tour ends.
I just looked it up. Damn, it really is sponsored by AARP. For some reason that's funny as hell.
Why should it be?
AARP... by the way, you are old enough to join, so you've likely been getting mail from them since your 49th birthday... their market is people in their late 40s and beyond... These people well know the Rolling Stones and their music, so what better way for AARP to reach them, than by sponsoring the Stones tour?
Who else should AARP be sponsoring? Post Malone?
So, is it ironic. NO... of course not. If AARP sponsored Post Malone or some other Top 40 artist no one over 40 gives a shit about, THEN THAT would be ironic.
It's ironic that they can still stand on their feet at that age with all the drugs that have been through them.

That sounds about right.

Well, duh. Consider:
Mick Jagger is 80.
Keith Richards is turning 80 this month, and it is amazing he is still alive given his past.
Ronnie Wood is 76.
Former members? Well...
Bill Wyman is 87.
Charlie Watts passed away at age 80 (2021)
Brian Jones did the "27 Club" and passed away like a legend "should' /sarc (1969)
Are the really? LOL Actually, it's apropos.
So what? They were never all that good. Mid `60's era, maybe.
I never thought of them as anything but a flavour of the day band. whatever was hip, they'd try to copy it and not do a very good job of it. I'm amazed they never bothered to tackle rap (except for "Shattered", but that was more punk than rap.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I saw them in 1994ish. I thought that was their farewell tour.
They were ancient when I was born. 🤶
That's a good first concert!
Goes to show … we should all be rock startsz drugs sre good for ya
Mick Jagger is 80, probably an AARP member.
Now that’s hilarious!
It is ironic, but they probably will tour until one of them drops or can’t do it no more since they’re all in their late 70s
Thats because all the old people would be going to see them. I wonder if I get discounted tickets through aarp
Definitely worth a chuckle!
Are they doing another final tour?
Someone doesn't know what ironic means.
No; not ironic at all. Lol
How is that ironic?
Perhaps
No, Mick looks 90, lol.
