When they talked about "cutting-the-cord" with cable TV so you can get cheap streaming I said they'll just move all the money over to streaming.
I'm no longer surprised or shocked anymore. When I saw that message last year they sent out warning this was coming, it was like, of course you're going to start charging more...somehow you managed for years to not charge a thing, but now all of a sudden it's a crisis that you can't manage to go ad free. Please. Every streaming platform has jacked up their prices---I get it when you're adding actual value to your platforms, but most are selling the same package they were five years ago, but now at a higher cost and Amazon CLEARLY wants a piece of the pie that Hulu, Disney, etc. have all figured, which is we can of course charge more and say, oh, but we're giving you a cheaper deal by running ads so you perceive that has value. As far as I can tell, per one show, there are two ads at the beginning, one in the middle and that's it, so I'll just "suffer," with ads. Cutting the cord is more expensive than cable now. You want to watch cable programming, it will require you to spend at least $20 per platform for just one tv/device...most families have many more, so price goes up and up, pay for this and that ad free thing, and this add on, you do the math.

Bezos needs more money for his rockets so he can take celebrities into space. He's about to become the world's first trillionaire too. We've all fucked up royally. Lol

Shouldn't surprise anyone.
They are all the same , try to gather market share then basically put up the price as much as they think the market can bare , you can never trust the likes of Amazon , say one thing do another..
A good way of accessing is how they treat their employees and contractors. Yeah sure incredible ride if you are a stakeholder.
I'm pleased to say , my completely illegal content here , gets me all this stuff for virtually nothing :) Shhhhhhh , but even worse in Australia. These companies suck quite frankly. See , I'm pissed off because I never bought the scrip , What an online book seller? Yeah , right.
Amazon seems to have been trying to go down the path of bundling, which is the business practice of packaging everything together to charge one large fee to get any of it.
The problem with bundling is you have to have something exclusive customers can't do with out to be worth that enormous fee.
Utilities like the Cable company for decades pulled this off with things like the sports package. Amazon was pulling this off with their unrivaled store, but lacking a public monopoly like the cable company.More competitors started showing up, and suddenly they can't jack up the price to keep up with inflation and have to start nickel-and-dime people again to pay their ever larger bills.
I'm about to drop Amazon for that reason. I dropped Netflix because most of their movies are from Mozambique, Germany, Spain, India, Poland, Ukraine with dubbed in English. They have any good movies on FREEVEE , and you might as well watch Network TV
Who needs Amazon prime when you can just stream everything for free and it is ad free and if your streaming choice is stable you can just throw some recording software at your pc and screencapture the whole movie or show and now you own it without ever having to pay for it. Been doing that for 14 years I have close to 40TB of movies and TV shows recorded and saved.
Not sure why people pay for streaming services when it's all free anyway, not hard to find a free site.
As for a small price increase that's standard practice, people been mad at businesses for increasing it's prices is like complaining over you need to breath.I don't, I don't look at it. The business models are around marketing so they charge for the privilege to not get the marketing. It makes sense to them.
go to Bumble or other sites, or start your own streaming company.
Or better yet, plant a garden, read a book, walk a dog, or ride a dirt bike.
I think Prime gets many things wrong for the consumer, which is why I have not signed up for them. It's also why I never go to the cinema.
I could not find any information about available resolutions and selectable language/dubs for videos. Disney+ has it all + subtitles.
Pretty infuriating. Expected, but infuriating. I'm sure Amazon isn't bleeding money so that they need those extra three bucks from everyone. But they know they can get more money, and they'd like to have more money, so why not? Well good for you, Amazon, but also fuck you.
I have no problem with it. It gives more options to the customers than an across the board $36 per year increase. Frankly I am far, far more concerned about the huge increases in food and fuel prices, and the housing cost increases for my friends.
Bezos has to keep raking in his billions from fleecing the customers after all.
The biggest con is you "buy" a movie but can't watch it if your Prime membership is unpaid.
I'm moving back to DVD and Blu-ray.I don't use it to begin with, but its a predictable move. I don't want to deal with all the DRM stuff either that may limit resolutions, etc so I don't use streaming services in general.
It's sad to say, but money is ruining everything as far as cable, streaming and there are people using Amazon fire stick and something about jail breaking them pretty soon all of that will be over with.
i can't wait until the subscription fad is DONE with
Advertising now? I have an ad blocker, how is this getting through
It's ridiculous. Every multi billion dollar company and their CEOs keep taking more and more of our ever shrinking disposable income so they can get another yacht.

I don't use it
there is other free/less cheap options so why pay Greedy. But my boyfriend will still pay as he hates ads 😂
Turn off your television. All of it. They are brainwashing you, that's why theybare called TV PROGRAMS
It doesn’t bother me too much. I only pay monthly and it isn’t much more. I also don’t have any of the addons.
