My Brit co-workers called a router a rooter. And don’t get me started on aluminum, pros]cess and schedule. I accepted them by not the Americans who went over there to work a couple of years and from then on they used the same pronunciation as the Brits. With that said, I still say “cheers” at the end of a call or conversation… hmmmmm.
Thanks for MHO :)
Ah, the classic "route" versus "root" debate! 🌍🌿
The pronunciation of "route" can vary depending on where you are and who you're talking to. In American English, you'll commonly hear both pronunciations. "Root" (rhyming with "shoot") tends to be more prevalent in casual conversation, especially in different regions. On the other hand, "route" (rhyming with "shout") might be more frequently used in more formal contexts or specific industries.
In British English, "route" (rhyming with "shoot") is the standard pronunciation.
So, you could say it's all about context and geography! 🌎🎤 No matter which one you choose, people will understand you.
