Which Halloween horror film absolutely scared the hell out of you and gave you nightmares as a kid?

None that I know of but, there WAS one that was pretty disturbing, mostly because, for one scene, I put myself in the position of the main character. In, "The Colossus Of New York", a guy rushes to keep his little boy from being hit & killed by a car and, he, himself, gets killed instead but, as he's a very brilliant scientist, they decide to do all they can to save his brain and keep it alive. One minute, he's diving to save his son, the next, he wakes up seeing the world as if his eyes are t. v. screens and his voice is greatly distorted! Then, they tell him that they wired up his brain to a machine to keep it alive! Imagine having to spend the rest of your life like that! Maybe even eternity!
Wasn’t a scary movie.
But my mom made me and my siblings watch all Disney movies, including the princess movies.
In the sleeping beauty the scene where maleficent appears scared the fuck out of my siblings and I.
IT (1990) I was 5 when I first watched it and after that you wouldn’t catch me near a clown at any carnival regardless of how badly I might have wanted a balloon animal. had one nightmare of him that I still remember vividly and it’s probably cause it was the first and only time I ever woke up already crying. grew out of the fear of clowns but I can’t lie that one bastard specifically still gives me the creeps😂
The exorcist had me terrified as a kid lol. I thought it was real and could happen like that.
The movie Fallen with Denzel also scared the crap out of me. I don't think that's a Halloween movie but yeah.
As a kid, "The Ring" was the Halloween horror movie that truly terrified me and gave me nightmares. The eerie atmosphere, the cursed videotape, and Samara's unsettling appearance sent chills down my spine. 🎥 The concept of a supernatural force reaching out through a screen was both fascinating and frightening!

When I was a kid , A nightmare on Elm street scared the shit out of me , as well as Poltergeist 3 with the creepy old man with the black hat , But the movie that freaked me out the most , was The Entity , because it was based on actual true events , I actually did a book report about it in school and went to the library to find more information on it , To find out the actual lady it happened to , was still be haunted by the entity even after she moved from the house. I heard they were going to make a remake of it , not sure if it was released but I do want to watch it
I grew up in a small town and there was a local theater. The road to the theater was not paved and had a lot of spooky old trees on it and no streetlights.. I remember seeing War of the Worlds one night and walking home in the dark. I was pretty scared.
Thst is the only time I ever got spooked.
I dont really have a movie , I never find them quite frightening enough , agree its 100% better at an actual cinema , maybe someone can make a recommendation , I've seen all the obvious ones , so I will read though.
I used to be scared of Chunky and dolls for ages, I hated my dolls and would always throw them in the basement. I also used to be scared of Freddy.
@Shamalien LMAO damn auto correct :D Chucky
Nightmare on Elm Street. I was like 9 when that movie came out. That was also Johnny Depp's first movie. Not that that had anything to do with being scared. Just thought I'd add that tidbit of information.
Exorcist, but within a year or two it turned into my favourite movie of all time... and still is to this day.
I wasn't me but my sister, and it's not a Halloween movie perse, but the clown under the bed in "Poltergeist" gave her a sleepless night.

I'm not really sure if this would be considered a horror movie but the movie Coraline scared me so bad when I was a kid
Kids are not allowed to watch X rated movies. Is this a trick question?
The exorcist still scares the shit out of me.
I was never scared of horror movies, even as a kid, I knew they were not real. I liked watching them cause they are exciting.
