Would you be disappointed if your poem did not rhyme?

I am thinking of teaching poetry classes for a few weeks and I want to know if it is bad form or considered rude to create a poem that has no pentameter rhyme to it.

Not all poems rhyme it just depends on the style. I do find poems that rhyme flow better even they don’t necessarily “rhyme” for example, the sentence “The orange sky wore a strange, worn edge.” If read a certain way, you can make orange sound similar to worn edge in your head and it kind of flows. Similar to “The candles flickered a bright warm white, the handles jittered as the sky grew bright” jittered and flickered don’t necessarily rhyme exactly but they are very close. Excuse my examples, I am not a poet aha.

There exists a style of poetry called free verse which doesn't rhyme at all it emphasizes emotion and narrative so it's kinda similar to writing a story in that way.
