Is this song philosophically sound?

Almost all of Megan Trainor's songs preach feminism which doesn't make the messages about her songs very good. This song flew over my head before, but a few days ago I randomly thought about it. It was weird when I listened to it because I was thinking about my friend's graduation. The song is sung in a romantic context. The lyric "I won't take you for granted" highlighted another question; Can loss strengthen the love we already have?

This song is a trap. Its got the idea happiness, but comes from ignoring what you know to be true in order to enjoy right now...

So many people like it because they are in the trap. What kills me the most is the way the music makes you feel love but her words are lust. Its a fractured piece of love, she knows it and is settling for it to be "happy"

This is like how you can say something happy with a sadness in your voice and people hear the sadness not the happy thing you said. Except its the opposite. The music tricks us into liking this song. I know its a trap and I like it... 😵

Lol, I know the dark side of the song well. "I will love you today because I might sacrifice you for my happiness tomorrow." There are other factors to consider like death or graduation (mentioned above, but we still can connect) or simply growing apart (beside the point, I don't believe it should be a factor in marriage.) We don't know when we could die, and feeling that loss is okay. Prematurely though?

I always wished that it hadn't happen this way... but losing my very best friend in this life at an earlier age, was the one thing that made me realize more than anything else, how many other things I took for granted, and I mean the people on my life, my brother especially... family, my other few friends, and more than anything, myself

but in losing him, I also lost myself for a bit of time so... as pretty much anything else in life, it can go either way... and it also depends on what we lose

if there's a loss of trust, I would never go back to a relationship like that, and that would not be love for me...

I see what you mean. I found that losing a friend or relative does not mean we've lost the pearls, advice or maxims they said while they were there. It still hurts though.
