I think a lot of it comes down to nostalgia bias. We see the flaws of this generation readily (i. e. mid 20s millennial video game zombie), but older generations' flaws have been ignored due to a lot of time passing.

it's important to keep in mind that most people in their 20's aren't fit to raise kids. this goes for millennials. this goes for gen x'ers. this goes for baby boomers, and everybody.
