Father's Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. The tradition was said to be started from a memorial service held for a large group of men who died in a mining accident in Monongah, West Virginia in 1907. It was first proposed by Sonora Dodd of Spokane, Washington in 1909. It is currently celebrated in the United States annually on the third Sunday in June.
And you got Grandparents Day...

Grandparents Day serves to honor and recognize the contributions of grandparents in our lives. Grandparents are a society and a family's ties to its past as they pass on important values, beliefs and ideals to future generations. Their wisdom and love are recognized every year on the first Saturday after Labor Day in September
Why are days set to honor them? I guess we set a day aside to honor them because we love them, but what do we do the other 364 Days of the Year?
This is also a reason why we dont have a Childrens Day in the US:
