If a guy treats you like a baby, or treats you as if you were his own what could that mean?

This guy I know very well I can tell likes me. We have such a personal connection. We're like the best of friends. He treats me so different I can tell from the others around him. He always smiles at me, makes me feel so special, etc. He even invited me to his Christmas party, which is coming up very soon. I think we both like each other very much, but we're both unsure at the same time of what the other is feeling. He invited me, but isn't pressuring me to come. But he really wants me to, etc. I really like him and I plan on getting him two or more presents for Christmas, though he told me he's easy to please, and doesn't really want anything for Christmas. But honestly I wouldn't care if he got me anything or not, cause I just want to give him something, cause I like him so much. I was going to get him one of his favorite movies, and something to help him with his artwork, with a Christmas card. Does that say too much...like I want to be on another level...or is it OK? LOL if you can answer these two questions in one, you are totally super! Thanks for the advice...and to others who love it...Happy Early Merry Christmas to all!

If a guy is treating you like a baby or his own, then he is protecting you which is one of some things that guys think is what they need to (possibly subconsciously) do to put into a relationship. I think he is (trying to) prove that he is a good candidate for a relationship, and since it's to you, he may be into you.

I don't think that those things are too much to give. It is Christmas, the time for giving (cheesy, lol) and generosity is inevitably to be expected, even by a guy who "says" he doesn't want anything.

I would get him one thing that tells him he means something, and put as much as effort into it or choosing it(: (not extreamly expensive though) That would be okay, but if you got him two presents then they would have to be a bit smaller, just so he doesn't get the wrong idea.

I think that the first thing you should do is be sure that you guys are connecting on the same level. If you are sure that he likes you, then sure why not! a movie and something for his artwork would be fine! I would suggest on just one though.!(:
