If they have feelings for you, and you don't want to see them romantically, it makes things harder. I chose to end things with a girl I had feelings for on my birthday. Why go through the torture of hanging out as friends?
I understand this but most of them know I am taken when we became friends. About having feeling for me, none of them made it obvious (so how can I tell) or I am just bad at reading it.
There are guys out there who can handle being friends with women without trying to get into their pants, no matter how attracted they are to their female friend. I don't think the attraction can go away but if a man respects you, he will respect your choices, and the boundaries you set for them.
I think the best way to ensure if any man respects you or not, is to take a deep look at his life, views, choices, and everything else. Start to judge him from there and see what you find out about him.
However, you could try a much more direct approach and be in his presence in revealing clothes and see how he reacts. While this approach will save you time, it can be dangerous to do in front of a new friend, he could be a rapist.
How you deal with your male friends from now on is up to you, but I do hope that a decent male friend comes into your life and restores that lack of trust of men that those other friends of yours have damaged.
I seem to have that problem with women a lot, it usually goes something like: a girl starts talking to me, we seem to get along, I think she wants to be friends with me, then I later learn she was actually wanting a relationship with me, I tell her I am not interested, then it's like she disappears...
in my opinion if the friendship didn't form early on in your life it's hard to have a platonic one with males later on. I feel you, it happens to me a lot but unlike you I prefer to company of women anw. Some guys can be mature enough to stay friends with you even if you are not attracted to them but if you do give them the opportunity they will try for sure.
Because most men are beta male orbiters and you women like the attention... Let's say you have 6 male friends, I can bet you a million dollars 5 of those 6 want to fuck you.. Their simps.. most men and women I know can't be friends. It's just a simple fucking fact.
They didnât want to be friends: they wanted to date or have sex.
Many men donât want friendship. Seek gay men though.

Its even the norm for me as a girl to be unable to be friends with guys cause of the tension or outright pain on my part.
there's only been 1 guy so far and I just met him... And I'm not jealous that he didn't ask me out and that he seems flirty with many women. Somehow friendship is ok for me... Right now. Extremely rare and unexpected for me.
Its tough sometimes... I think at times it's easier with friends that you have known for a while but it's harder when you are actively looking for someone because you can fall into that mindset. But being friends with a girl is nice
I've had experience the other way round. Had girls who I was friends with lead me on into thinking they wanted something more. Then when I finally gave in they're like "we're just friends" and will try to keep me around as "just a friend" to get attention while contionuing to flirt and throw out mixed signals.
It sounds like all of those men were interested in dating you abd now that your getting married they have zero interest. No worries you will make new men friends (ones already married and donât have jealous wives
Men always keep girl bit far when they hear that other friend is going into relationship to avoid and give space so that other partners get along few bondings needs some space to keep easy and also guys have loose toung so distance helps
Most guys don't know how to handle such platonic relationships, and usually don't have experience with it.

I have seen the same issue from the other side, so maybe you can clarify that - I had a lot of close female friends, we used to meet often and talk, but since they got a boyfriend they completely forgot about me. So why is it so hard for women to stay friends with men?
Same here which is why this isn't really a gender specific problem. I just think people act different the second they get into relationships. That's a better question than why does men do this or why does women do that
Some women ditch their femal friends when they have boyfriens so it's not a gender thing but the thing that women put romantic interest as priority relationship
Sounds like you are friends with the wrong type of blokes. I have many female friends and its completely non sexual and no expectations or hopes of it going further from either of us.
As long as he or any guy is getting laid we donât mind having other platonic friends. Our needs are being taken care of. This allows us to feel more at ease around other women. But if heâs perpetually single and has lots of platonic female friends heâs going to feel like shit.
Because most men don't find most women very fun or interesting without physical intimacy or even so much as the prospect of future physical intimacy. Sorry!
@Ninjazzed Most women only offer themselves as sex objects. Look at what women wear, do, and how they act. Do you think the women at the club last night wanted to be seen for their intellect?
@KrakenAttackin What the fuck does their clothing have to do with who they are as individuals, you men just keep getting shallower, and wonder why youâre stuck with your virginities until you're pushing 40.
@KrakenAttackin Those arenât âmost womenâ for the record lmao the majority of women are busy holding a 9-5 job. And so what if they visit a club or a bar? Can women not enjoy partaking in activities in their free time without being slut-shamed? Of course not. Men like you perpetuate stereotypes.
@Iwjwmsmsnsjsns22 They seem to be inadvertently proving my point.. no point in arguing with sexist mentalities. Heâs not making the point he thinks heâs making.
@Ninjazzed haha not as "only" sex objects but PRIMARILY sex objects (to straight men). It's kind of an illusory effect of scarcity, you see... Since women are the only source of physical intimacy for straight men and each of our time in this world is finite, it's important to straight men to prioritize their female companions according to who can fulfill our physical intimacy requirements. Secondary to that, purely platonic relationships with men are usually more emotionally fulfilling (and liberating) to straight men than those with women.
In all fairness, it's not because women are objectively boring or intolerable or anything but because, due to cultural factors or whatever, the sexes are quite segregated from a young age in terms of popular activities and develop vastly different habit patterns. To men who lie on the more 'masculine' end of this distribution, hanging out with the average woman can a) unfulfilling because we often have to settle for activities of secondary interest to us and b) exhausting because we feel the need to temper our behavior and language around her to avoid offending her or grossing her out.
@DonCachondo Surprisingly, this actually applies to both sexes in a way, just not to the same extent. Women find platonic relationships with other women more emotionally fulfilling and romantic relationships with men to be more physically fulfilling but isnât the main objective. Women seek to grow and bond with men emotionally as well as intimately. Obviously not all women prefer this but most from my experience. Straight men tend to set very strict limits regarding bicuriosity and would literally go out of their way just to avoid it.. itâs extremely rare to witness regular male intimacy among straight men because itâs almost as if theyâve seen it as âeffeminateâ or âgrossâ or they often associate it with homosexual behavior. Your partner should be your best friend, regardless of gender. As far as men becoming uninterested in women, despite being straight.. why not just find someone who shares similar interests? Or maybe just stop dating women?
@Ninjazzed You missed the point ---- completely. Women complain about being "objectified" but they work hard to dress and act like sexual objects. You can't have it both ways. Do I need to explain this again for you?
@Ninjazzed That's a good question and I think it varies from straight man to straight man. Personally, I have no qualms about the prospect of being a gay man. In fact, I've mused about how much easier life would be given my circumstances if I had been born gay instead of straight. Incidentally, I'm not "repulsed" per se by the male body or the idea of gay male sex, though they both fail to spark the same feelings of pleasure and arousal in me that an attractive woman could generate spontaneously with such ease!
@Ninjazzed I don't know why you are having such a hard time understanding. When wear skimpy outfits, push up bras, bright lipstick, tight clothes; you are doing this why?
@KrakenAttackin All of the signature feminine qualities that simply make women feminine? âSkimpy outfitsâ and âbright red lipstickâ are all that men have mass marketed and itâs all they seemed to find themselves attracted to. Though, I honestly donât wear much makeup or revealing clothing so dunno what exactly youâre trying to imply here.
I could ask you this. Why are you so much in favor of modesty? A 'modest' woman is seen to be shy, uptight, and less engaging than the modern woman. Men who prefer modest women are usually insecure themselves, and find the modern woman a challenge, even intimidating. A confident woman who is comfortable in her character and sexuality is much more intriguing.
@DonCachondo Absolutely correct. When I think about going to the shooting range, or breaking out the motorcycle, I don't think about "which girl should I call".
@KrakenAttackin Iâm actually a gay college student but nice to see you proving my point that youâre a misogynist cunt showing your true colors by hurling insults lol
@Ninjazzed WRONG. Skimpy outfits, pushup bras, bright lipstick, are NOT "feminine", they are WHORE. Also, the fashion industry is dominated by women and gay men.
I guess it shouldn't shock me that a 20 year old "blowjob queen" doesn't know what feminine really is.
@KrakenAttackin Probably an old deluded conservative twat. Are you a Trumptard as well? You seem to enjoy demeaning/shaming women. Like the old saying goes.
Elect a disgusting greedy racist sexist rapist narcissistic silver-spoonâd corrupt awkward syphilis-riddled Adderall-addled lying cheating classless clueless cowardly dumb draft-dodging micropenisâd fascist bully traitor crybaby clown, expect a circus and a cult following.
@Ninjazzed not to butt into your subconvo with @KrakenAttackin here, but I must object to the small part where you said men have "mass marketed" skimpy outfits and bright red lipstick. I would agree if by men you mean GAY men, in addition of course to straight women, because gay men and straight women are the only ones who really give a hoot about fashion, let alone making executive decisions over the fashion industry. If straight men had their way, the women with big tits, big asses, thin waists, and big lips would be the models and they would range from naked to almost naked ;P
@KrakenAttackin Again, your perspective of âwhore fashionâ is all a matter of your personal opinion and preference lmao but donât speak on behalf of everybody because you feel threatened by push-up bras and brightly colored lipstick because youâre a salty old conservative bastard who gets his panties in a twist over female articles of clothing yet jerks off to them later lol
Right? Heâs got some inflated ego there. Heâs pretty much slut-shaming in a nutshell with sexist drivel but yet still wants to sugarcoat it by dodging the question and calling me a âblow-job Queenâ because deep down heâs a sexist and got riled up whenever he got called out on his own bullshit.
@Ninjazzed the fashion (and adjacently pop music) industry blew up just a few decades ago. The quasi-anorexic "beauty standard" as we millennials have known it is actually quite young. The more taboo "adult" modeling alongside it has been fairly consistent over the years in its representation of straight male ideals.
@KrakenAttackin Ok, boomer. This world doesnât favor your opinions anymore because you wanna be an offended snowflake over how a woman decides to dress herself (which is none of your business btw)
And as we all know, there is no greater demographic of the mentally ill than conservative boomers *cough*
@Ninjazzed Did you know lipstick was created to make a womans lips look like her vagina in a state of arousal? Whey do you think lip injections are such a hit?
I love and adore real women, but I don't see the "cult of whore" as real women.
@KrakenAttackin Lip injections (or more commonly known as âBotoxâ) are used to make the lips appear fuller. Lipstick highlights the lips. You obviously donât know the difference between lipstick and plastic surgery lol. Ancient Sumerian women AND men were the first to invent and wear lipstick, about 5,000 years ago. Just like high heels were invented for men, but whenever women started wearing them they considered them âfeminineâ and stopped wearing them. I thought we were last letting religious dogma blind our ability to use logic. Guess not.
Sure, you âloveâ real women. What do you consider a âREALâ woman? One that doesnât wear makeup? Ok, but donât implode in a fit of hysterics whenever she decides to go out without a full face of makeup and all of a sudden sheâs âawkwardâ or âuglyâ lol. You associate makeup with whoredom because youâre an overly offended numbskull who thinks women dress according to your tastes like your approval actually matters lol.
@Ninjazzed They look very artificial and I think most non-African women do it to imitate African women again. I can only speak for myself, when I'm single and only befriended with a woman, I one day may start falling in love with her. It will then more hurt when she says "no", so I better have a "loose friendship" where I don't have to meet obligations, like going out here or there. I then better continue to look for a woman that wants more than just friendship, better intimacy later on in a committed relationship (monogamous, closed).

By revealing clothes, I meant something appealing.
That came off wrong.
I seem to have that problem with women a lot, it usually goes something like: a girl starts talking to me, we seem to get along, I think she wants to be friends with me, then I later learn she was actually wanting a relationship with me, I tell her I am not interested, then it's like she disappears...
Which is entirely appropriate.

...
First thing I do is find out were I stand with them ie do they want friendship or relationship.
Then go from there.
Some friends I hug.
3 female friends shared a double bed with but only intention I had was sleeping because I knew were I stood with them
I find it works better if both parties are in relationships with other people.
I've had similar shit, to what you're describing, happen with single women, sometimes.
You are right about your second paragraph. So this is just a thing about single people then, not really a gender issue.
in my opinion if the friendship didn't form early on in your life it's hard to have a platonic one with males later on.

YES, and the sixth guy friend is gay or bi.
These women like having the "friend zone" bench loaded at all times, it's a source of power and ego boost for them.
They didnât want to be friends: they wanted to date or have sex.
Many men donât want friendship. Seek gay men though.

Pfft. I have no idea why they won't. They probably don't respect women and see them as nothing more than a puss on legs?
But why don't WOMEN want to be friends with us?
Figures... 🙄🙄🙄 tsk, tsk, tsk...
Most guys don't know how to handle such platonic relationships, and usually don't have experience with it.

@Ninjazzed No. This is you excusing bad behaviour and projecting it on to men, which is exactly what your "gender studies" class told you to do.
At some point you will have to learn to think and observe for yourself. On that day, you will an adult.
@Ninjazzed not to butt into your subconvo with @KrakenAttackin here, but I must object to the small part where you said men have "mass marketed" skimpy outfits and bright red lipstick. @KrakenAttackin âblowjob queenâ when Iâm gay lmaoo youâre dumb as shit, someone put this neurotic fuck out of his misery.
@KrakenAttackin Didnât know âWHOREâ to be a subcategory but go off lmao
@Ninjazzed If "WHORE" is a category, I like the sound of it :D
@KrakenAttackin âthe fashion industry is dominated by women and gay men.â
Ok? Your point? This happened very recently. Whatâs your excuse regarding several decades before gay men and women were given rights to do so?
@KrakenAttackin Again, your perspective of âwhore fashionâ is all a matter of your personal opinion and preference lmao but donât speak on behalf of everybody because you feel threatened by push-up bras and brightly colored lipstick because youâre a salty old conservative bastard who gets his panties in a twist over female articles of clothing yet jerks off to them later lol
