Is it okay to ditch your poor friends?

I personally feel it is no big deal. If you or myself is struggling then we can do something cheap such as a coffee date, picnic, or movie. If you would like to do more expensive activities such as travel, skydive, or whatever the hell rich people do. Then you can go with other friends without shaming the poorer friend... thoughts?

I prefer middle class friends - many of my poor friends were poor because they made bad choices like flunking out of college from not studying or wasting too much money on restaurant food or spending too much on dates to get sex - most of my rich friends were snobs who mistakenly thought they were more intelligent or moral than me due to their high material advantages

I have poor friends who ditched me long ago! They were "emotional & financial parasites" anyway.

Sounds like they were not so great people to regardless of being poor. I NEVER ask my friends for anything whether I have money or not. So being poor is not an excuse to use and ditch your friends.

Real friends stick with each other through good and bad times, regardless of whether or not one is rich or poor.

On the other hand it also tells a lot about the rich one if he/she did ditch friendship.

Exactly. a lot of people are user's in today's society. not really friends.
They are little to fast to call someone friend without something to show for it.
