My sister's boyfriend took and pawned my grandpa's chain that my mom gave to him as a gift 25 years ago.
My mom was letting him stay at our house at the time then she kicked him out once that happened
My sister kept having him come over against my grandpa and my moms wishes at the time, that eventually my mom gave in and let him stay in our garage at least
Fast forward a year later
Now that the garage is being fixed she let him sleep back in our house and watch our tv Because she doesn't her daughter to be out in the hot sun
The problem is 1 yr and a half has passed and this guy never payed my grandpa back yet he gets all the luxury back from my family because my sister said screw the rules.
Is my family going about this the wrong way?

Yup. You're lettin' the guy walk all over y'all, bc your big sister "loves him too much." Here's some sound advice: 1) Talk to just your parents and try to get them to see the issue with this dude stealing and stayin in the garage after. 2) Hope that that gets the guy to either apologize and make up for it or get his own damn place. 3) If all is successful, try not to let your sister know you were behind it, maybe get her a cheap vibrator asap so she is possibly more likely to get over the dude.

I've had money stolen before and as it was a family dispute put their hand on a desk and planted a ball peen hammer blow 6 inches away and said next time it'll be the hand... that was 3 years ago and not a penny has gone missing since

Well there you have it my sister's boyfriend continues to steal from my moms friends and his own friends
I would say he can be forgiven but should definitely pay them back for it. When my brother was on drugs he stole some sterling silver flatware my grandma had for yearsss and pawned it. My grandma forgave him but he has had to pay back EVERY penny (and then some I think) for a new set. Does he feel remorseful? I know my brother did and thats why grandma was able to forgive him.

But he's the type of guy that never says the wrong things far as i know
I mean he never admitted to taking anything until he gets caught
He will say things like "i would never do that to you guys i love you" stuff like that
Your sister's boyfriend is useless and your sister is even worse. Allowing someone like that in, after they steal from your family, is just beyond my comprehension. Is your sister stupid? Tell your mom to just kick them out of the house, people like that only deserves the trash.

Sorry if this offends you but are you stupid? If he stole something he belongs in jail not in your house. Kick them both out and make sure he gives you what he stole back.
Interesting your sister would stick by him when he's done this, let alone the rest of the family seemingly forgive him. Did ge give a reason why he did it? What was the money needed for?
