My stepdad kicked my dog?

A little back story. I’m 26. I live at home to help my mom out by taking care of my disabled sister. This has caused me to not be able to have a full time job since my sister needs full time care. BUT, I do side jobs like I make homemade dog treats, I cut yards, housework, etc. I’m also a full time college student but I do all my classes online.

Anyway. I have a 1 year old Yorkie. Whenever someone starts running, she runs after them and starts barking and acts like she’s gonna bite your ankles but doesn’t. EVERYONE KNOWS THIS. So we do not run. But my youngest sister who is 10 years old still does this! She does this for attention! So she’ll run and my Yorkie will run after her and pretend to bite and my sister starts yelling at the top of her lungs. My stepdad saw this and KICKED my Yorkie and she flew and hit the couch. I grabbed her right away and yelled at him. And I wanted to call the cops but my mom didn’t let me. I live in her home and she pays the bills. So I feel like I’m at a loss here. Like she’d kick me and my dog out if I did call the cops.

What are my options here? My stepdad is also mean to me and my disabled sister. He’s verbally abusive and he told me to get out today after I yelled at him. I’m fine if I get kicked out because I have a car. But I’m worried about my sister. She’s disabled and can’t defend herself.

Call the cops and have him kicked out. If you claim somebody abused you and you have the bruises and scars to prove it the government can legally ban the abuser from cohabiting in the same house or area as you. I know cause my cousin and her husband both hit each other equally during their marriage but my cousin called the police on him and for almost two years he was not legally allowed to set foot on her property. A judge later gave him permission to live in the same home as my cousin and now they are happily married with no hitting.

I mean, as someone who is currently working towards dog training and protection as my future career - You need to train your dog better, that isn't an acceptable behaviour.

Personally, I'd definitely report him. How hard did he kick? I'd probably also go and get the dog checked over just to make sure they're okay but they're probably fine but yeah, I'd really put some effort into training, that way if she runs around again, it won't bother your dog.

You can also report for him being abusive to the people in your household but have to remember that this isn't the safest option, especially if your mum is currently still supporting him.

She’s currently in training and the dog trainer said to not run around her while we’re currently working on it. But, my little sister does it anyway for attention.

I took her to the vet and they said she’s okay. No broken bones or anything.

My mom defended him. I moved out and made a police report

then i suggest kick your stepdad back... or report him for animal cruelty
if the dog was vicious and was attacking him then sure defending himself is ok, but if he and everyone know's the dog isn't going to attack then he did it out of spite for the animal

Exactly. The dog is also only 5 pounds.

hope the dog bites him or another dog does it tbf hate people who abuse animals... if it was self defence and he did it cos it was the only way to stop a dog from biting them from a vicious attack... sure self defence, but since it isn't he should be reported...

Document EVERYTHING on your phone -- time and exactly what occurred. If he abuses your sister consider calling Child Protective Services or a women's shelter.

He had no right to kick the dog I mean the dog was just being a dog. You're dad sounds mean 😕 and for him to be mean to you and your disabled sister is even worse. Can you and your sister stay with another relative or friend?
