Why do most women reject the idea / belief of antinatalism?

because society pressures them to have babies? because they won't have a husband if they don't have a baby? because babies are supposed to make their lives better, put them out of misery? because they are using babies to keep a man chained? —

Fine, I sound like really ridiculous. But I am yet to see them on GaG. Generally I am Friends with men, their beliefs is one of the many reasons lol.

it's funny to me when people give women no agency and no accountability at all. as if they couldn't make any choices. as if they were at the whim of forces outside of them.

Sure there's some things in life that you can't control. like death for example we all gotta die. but i don't buy into the idea that women are so weak and so opressed that they can't decide for themself. specially in times of emancipation, where every woman can have a career and be completely independend of men, if they so chose.

and yes i find the idea you proposed very ridiculous. women want children not cause of "society" or cause they are somehow forced to by men. they want children because evoltution has intrinsicly motivated them to WANT children (through genetics and hormonal setup that promotes having children). because quite simply: if that evolution did not take place, humans would have gone extinct from the getgo. that's how evolution works.

of course i'm "generally" speaking. meaning statistically most women want children. that does not mean that no woman exists that does not want children. and guess what: those women do choose not to have children. nobody stops them from doing so.

Education generally helps, i saw a study done in India on a province which had high teen pregnancy rates, its rapidly dropped when all the girls were educated.

There is a sort of, find a man, have a baby, get a house, die sort of narrative to human existence, its like people struggle to do things that deviate from that, i guess religion has something to do with it, it sort of set up that pattern

I don't feel pressured about having kids. I myself have 9 siblings, 1 half and 1 step. I love my huge family and I can't imagine a smaller one. Well, I get a glimpse of it whenever I'm home alone and I hate it. It's so lonely and quiet. Kinda scary too cuz I start hearing all these sounds. Wtf.

I want to have lots and lots of babies. Like a crazy amount. People in my country have like 20 kids. And although I want 20 haha, I'll settle for 4.

Even my friend groups are large.

I can never imagine depending on 2 or 3 people for my social needs. I need a variety. I need a wild friend, an introspective friend, a friend I sorta don't get along with so I learn to live with ideas opposite to mine, a friend I can be a total baby with, etc.

Most women? Women all over the world are having fewer children and having them later. Sending girls to school makes a huge difference. So does urbanization and the reduction of poverty. Its good, there are lefty of people.

Much of this is actually genetically driven.

Those who reject antinatalism are usually those with strong parental instincts. Instincts are hard-wired.

Some people simply do not have any parental instincts at all, and this is usually due to some kind of maladaptive mutation.

We arrive at these ideas because of how we’re wired, not the other way around.

Children are the continuation of a bloodline, nothing more. What you do to teach them, love them, and protect them, is all part of the duties of a parent. You don't HAVE to be committed to a marriage or even a relationship to have children. If you MUST have children, but don't have a partner, then there are a number of ways that can happen. Invitro, adoption are but two.
