What is your most common reason you dont reply to a friends text/dm?

I asked something like this awhile back and just feel like asking again. Seems like there's newer people on.

so this is still an insecurity of mine. When someone doesn’t reply to me i can help but wonder if it’s because of something i said or if its really just how they work with their texting or dms.

which of these would you say is your most common reason for not replying to someone whom you are friends with?

I try not to do this so much but it's usually because I don't know what to say or how to respond. Sometimes I'm concerned I may come off as negative or pessimistic if I talk about my problems. It really depends on the context or situation. Sometimes I may not respond because I don't want to say something that may upset the other person.

In my case, it's usually due to:

I'm feeling lazy or too tired to talk to them right now.
I'm not feeling social or chatty. Especially as an introvert, there are times, heck, DAYS I can go without chatting with a person. It's not them; it's really me. But I usually reply to them as soon as I'm feeling social again. Thankfully most of my friends are introverts or antisocial as well so they understand when I get that way.
I'm working/busy- in which case, no, I'm not going to reply back until I get some downtime
Said reply is lengthy or requires thought- if someone sends me a message or question where I can't just shoot a quick reply back, or I don't want to give them a "half ass" reply as I call it, I wait until I have the time and energy to give said person a proper response.
I'm not sure what to say, or there's nothing to say to it, lol.

My biggest reason, without a doubt, is that I am tired. Whether socially tired or physically tired, that is the reason.

Just got off a horrible or busy shift... yeah I may not respond to you.

Just woke up... may not respond right away.

Got back from a social function... probably won't text you.

I am definitely G, to friends. It may take me a while when I'm busy with work or life, but I always reply, even if it is a few days later.

If your a creep like some people that DM me here, when you start asking stupid stuff, I just ignore you, but those are not people I would consider a friend.

There is one friend who I honestly just forget to respond to. I think of the response, but end up not sending it.

There is another friend who only messages me to freak out about minor stomach issues, complain about being homeless or tell me he wants to die.

Him I’ve begun to ignore because I’m tired of him calling me his friend only for him to use me as a free therapist.

Usually because I’m just not in the mood to message anyone. Nothing to do with them personally but I’d rather have a long great text convo then a half assed one worded answer one because I wasn’t in the mood so I just hold it off a few hours until I can give my full attention to them

Depends if the text read like a question that required a response and how in depth the conversation would get.

I prefer long conversations to be done face to face or on a call over text. And sometimes I just don't know what to say back and want time to think about a reply before speaking, especially if it can be misunderstood because of it possibly being an emotional one.

For me I have this very bad habit of turning off the notifications and then forgetting to turning it on. Like that I think no one texted me and I can stay offline for few days like that. For discord I don't know why I don't get the notifications even when I turn it on. Or sometimes when I feel bored from the person as he/she chats too often. Or if someone texts me in Whatsapp at late night as if in my last seen 2 am is shown then my mom will take away my phone.

I really don’t like giving flippant replies to people close to me. If I’m busy or otherwise distracted (migraine coming on) I prefer to wait until my focus is less spread out. My friends/family all feel this way with each other.

At times it’s I get a bunch of what’s app messages through. we tend to just have group messages. i am shit at replying at times. even my daughter knows not to expect a reply this century at times.
