If your child asks for a puppy, would you get it for them?

If I didn't have severe allergies, and if mom or I had the time to take care of one, and we lived in a pet friendly area, and the kid showed a level of maturity for their age... then yes. But in a real life situation, probably not.
I might consider a simpler pet, at least to start. Something easy to take care of, but a bit fun. I have had turtles since I was 9 or 10, and they are great pets. A chameleon, a bearded dragon, maybe. Something with a definable personality that we could all take care of if it proved a little much for a kid. Nothing too loud, and nothing nocturnal.
maybe, I'd judge the reality of handling that pet because kids are fickle. if they commit to helping with the responsibility at young age and the logistics work, yes. it's a good experience for kids.
It’s not even something a child of mine would have to ask because that is something they would be getting from me. I loved having dogs and pets growing up.
I mean what’s a childhood without a puppy! 🥺
My parents agreed for adopting a puppy! But after 2 years when I complete my 10th grade studies as they are important and me and my sister would be responsible by then.

I grew up with dogs. The only reason I can think of to not ''allow'' a dog would be if my family's surrounding conditions are not suitable for the dog.
However - I'd make it a ''family dog'' (the main 'work' sooner or later will be on my own shoulders anyway :) )... and I'd love it like that.
Only when I wanted a dog too. I'd actually wait until the oldest kid is old enough to take care of it, (feed and water every day, clean up its poop, etc.) then show them a dog movie to get them to want a puppy/dog. I'd get a dog that I actually wanted for a while, but the kids would do the daily chores of taking care of it in exchange for me buying it and its food. Win win. :)
Depends on their gender and how much I love/ care about them... I am less likely to care about/love a son... I'd care more for a daughter... No not in an incest way.. that's jus how my heart works... Im jus more empathetic and caring for females... I guess you can say a simp...
So the answer is. For a daughter yes probably
For a son. Possibly, I'd have to question it
Here is why you should. It teaches responsibility. The right dog can watch after your child and protect them. They teach kids to love and get love back!
No puppies or dogs if I have a say in the matter. They might be cute but way to much work and I want to keep my stuff unchewed.
They only ever get ideas from people around them. So, if it was the spouse or grandparents suggesting that, then it's a conversation with them. But I consider that family planning/thing to deal with in advanace of their birth.
Yes, but that's because I would really be getting ME a puppy lol
Yes, we have 2 dogs and mostly because I wanted my kids to have the joy of a loyal dog.
Yes. As long as we had enough room for the dog to run around and play in.
I have a dog myself so if my child asks me for one in the future I will get him one off course
Ill think about it and whether I feel they are ready to have such a big responsibility.
No. Animals are not presents for humans.
I would get them a cat. I prefer cat.
The people who voted no likely voted for Biden
Nope
I'd give them a worm instead 😊
Lmaoooo
