Can a niece be jealous of her aunt?

My niece has a horrible attitude with me and back talks to me and says smart remarks about how I do things and I can’t believe a child is speaking to me like this. Her comments have kind of made my self esteem feel low. I catch her watching me and giving me a evil look and I get the creeps. She just tired thirteen and I want to blame it on hormones but she doesn’t do this to others. I hate the way she looks at me. I’m a crazy to think a child can envy a woman? My husband says you need to cut ties and make boundaries. The thing is she was not always like this. This started two years ago. What do you think she’s thinking giving her auntie the evil eye?
