Is it acceptable for a teacher to keep a secret from the parents if the student requests, for example this student confides that they are suicidal?

This is a tough one. I don't believe it's the teachers job to keep that kind of thing from the parents.

There's nothing tough about this. If a kid tells you they are suicidal, you immediately tell their parents.
