Why do some people give other people condenscending looks for no reason?

My mom does this sometimes when I like come to the living room trying to make a conversation with her, she like looks at me from toe to my head with a condenscending and disgusted look. Like we did not fight, I do not look weird, everything is good but still she gives me this kinda look (like the woman in the picture).

Why do people do that?

She wishes her life was like yours. I have seen cases where the mother is jealous of her daughters looks. Or hey maybe she was just angry with Something you did or maybe you interrupted her?
