My brother's girlfriend hits him and isolates him from people?

Sorry if this is a heavy question. My brother's girlfriend is an abusive person- she hits him/physically abuses him and isolates him from his friends and family. He spent the night in jail the other day because they got in a fight where she punched him. Everyone is worried about him.

When I try to reach out to my brother about it she prevents him from talking to me and says our family is "just jealous" of their closeness. We are not jealous we are worried. He has stopped talking to me. He has stopped talking to our family and his friends. What can we do? We can see that she is abusive to him (she is also not nice to us or his friends) but he can't see it.

Okay this sounds very similar with narc abuse. If your brother's girlfriend is a narcissist (IF) then she will do exactly as you describe. She will isolate him so he doesn't have external support. Unfortunately there's not much you can do except for be there for your bro when he does reach out to you. Don't talk about the girlfriend because it will get back to her and make her take revenge. I'm sorry you're going through this. Hugs.
