If you are too young to have a spouse or do not have one - do/did your parents share housework?
+1 yHow ironic that I ran across this question at this juncture in our evening. I am playing some games with our children, while my husband is sorting laundry that he did earlier in the afternoon. He took the day off from work. I have to say, the scales are not even in our home, he does way more cleaning and cooking than I do. He is home a little bit more, but my hats off to him for doing so many household chores, as well as taking care of our property (outdoor).

+1 yWe share. We have mine, his, and whoever-gets-to-it chores.

I think so. If we argue about it, it's more like, "No, let me get that. Go sit down and relax."

Yeah, it is good. Who does the most is not one of our arguments. We know who mows the lawn the most and who does the most dishes. 😂

Thank you for the MHO ❤

Does my wife take out the wall oven, re-build the shelf that holds it up, replace the electrical connection and re-install it? Or maybe you mean... does my wife help me remove & install ceiling fans? No, I got it... you mean does she help me go outside and look for criminals at 3AM when there's a strange noise out in the dark. Oh, wait, wait... you probably mean does she help me fix the plumbing under the sink. No? Maybe re-wire the electrical outlets, switches, fixtures and whatnot? Oh, no, no.. I got it. You mean fix the broken fridge.. or uninstall, clean and re-install the counter cooktop. I could go on and on.

+1 yMy mom likes doing laundry because it makes her feel calm apparently lol. Both my parents are busy, so they have appointed a housekeeper who takes care of the chores. I help my mom with folding the laundry. Whenever the housekeeper has a day off, my dad and I help my mom with everything.
It's pretty nice actually. I learnt how to take care of myself and my belongings from a young age.

+1 yYes, since we pretty much have the same working schedule that's what works for us. What each of us does really depends on what needs to be done - but typically I will do laundry and he will cook - we never really change that.
My parents split household duties as well and then when we got older, we had to take on some of those responsibilities as well. Their schedule was much more chaotic so there was always a chore that never got finished until the next day or so, LOL!

+1 yMy parents share house work but my dad does more house work unless it’s gardening season since my mom wants to be the only gardener in our house. All the married couples I know share the house work, if the wife does not work, she does more house work, but none of them do nothing around the house.

+1 yNot really. I have always dislike domesticated chores. He is a stay home dad/husband. But since I don’t like the work. I don’t want him to have to do all of it. So we just get cleaning services. It’s too much.

+1 yMy girlfriend does not live with me, so I do the housework every week. When my daughter was home we shared the responsibilities. I like a spic and span place.

+1 yMy SO and I share housework, though there are only some things that she lets me do. She is very picky about some things, and thinks I don't clean enough. Fine with me, I don't like to clean.

She likes to clean, I do a lot of the outdoor stuff, garbage, lawn work, snow removal.
We really don't keep score of who does what, you just help out.00 Reply- 508 opinions shared on Family & Friends topic.
u +1 yYes, I tend to do the basics (laundry, dishes, etc.). If there are any additional projects, she usually gets those started.

It's my home, my land. I handle it on principle, and I can't trust others to do it properly.00 Reply1.6K opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. Nah I usually do it all since my husband isn't home often
10 Replymy parents didn't share mama always got the house. Me? I would simply not even help with housework cuz that's what women are made for I would go out and make money instead and my spouse is gonna help me recover after a long day of work ofc.
