When you have a problem do parents always know the better than you or do they always know the best?
While parents can provide valuable guidance and advice based on their life experiences, it's not always the case that they know better than their children when it comes to specific problems. In some cases, children may have unique perspectives or experiences that their parents may not have had.
For example,
School and education: Children are often more intimately familiar with the intricacies of their school and education system than their parents. They may have insights into specific challenges or issues they face in the classroom or with specific teachers that their parents may not be aware of.
Social issues: Children today are exposed to a wide range of social issues that their parents may not have experienced in their own childhood. For example, issues related to gender identity, racial equity, or climate change are often at the forefront of discussions among younger generations, and children may have unique perspectives on these topics based on their own experiences.
Technology: Children today are often more technologically savvy than their parents, having grown up in a world where technology is an integral part of their daily lives. As a result, they may have insights into the use of certain apps, social media platforms, or other digital tools that their parents may not be as familiar with.
Parents are fallible and may not always have the answers to every problem. They may have biases, blind spots, or limited knowledge that prevent them from providing the best solution. It's okay for children to seek advice and guidance from their parents, but they should also feel empowered to make their own decisions and solve problems in a way that works best for them.

+1 yWhile parents may have more life experience and knowledge than their children, it does not necessarily mean that they always know what is best for their children. Parents may have biases, personal beliefs, or limited perspectives that can cloud their judgment or prevent them from fully understanding their children's needs and desires.
It is important to have open communication and trust between parents and their children, so that both parties can work together to make informed decisions that are in the best interest of the child. Ultimately, the best course of action may vary depending on the situation, and it may be necessary to seek input from other trusted sources such as friends, family members, or professionals.

I think they know better maybe like 75 percent of the time, the problem is that everybody thinks they are in the other 25 percent, and sometimes they are right! So it is hard to make sweeping statements, I will just say, it isn't like people evolve to be smarter or dumber in one generation so they are typically about as smart as you and have experienced a lot more things which is why I think they are right 75 percent. JMO!

Well... we are supposed to have more life experiences and wiser with our mistakes. But so many seem to not have learned from their mistakes and they are teaching their kids the same mistakes that they haven't learn.

+1 yNot necessarily always, but in an odds likely scenario, you have to lean on age and experience. Even if they’ve never been through a certain situation, maybe they know someone who has. You have to lead an extraordinarily sheltered life to not have wisdom beyond the years of someone who is young enough to be your child.
00 Reply It depends on the situation and your emotions.
If you don't know where to go may be try to figure out why and then get the opinions of your parents. Parents should always want the best for their children but they are also just humans, of course they have more life experience than the kids but all need to find their own way so it can't be bad to have another perspective of a situation if you are struggling to make a decision.00 Reply417 opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. usually.
They are older, have been through a lot, probably made many of the mistakes that you have or will.
not saying that they could be wrong from time to time.
my dad always told me that the older I got the smarter my parents would be.
he was right, and fortunately I was smart enough to listen to him.
It turned out well for me, but I was lucky, there are many parents out there that are not so great.00 Reply
+1 ySo you think parents always knows best? When I was in high school I decided that I wanted to try out for the basketball team because well I loved basketball a lot at the time and I had no intentions of eating anything because I knew what was gonna happen. So since parents always knows best my parents insisted on me doing something that I didn’t want to do because I knew what was going to happen. I probably was never gonna be on the team but what happened shouldn’t have happened
00 Reply3.7K opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. No, my parents were often wrong about many things. They both were city kids and did not understand life in the suburbs, Neither of them went to college so they had no good advice about that either. They did the best they could though /

+1 yNo, my parents had no clue how to raise a child and were abusive, I’m just glad that I didn’t listen to them and learnt my own lessons in life, I know more than my whole family combined apart from my Nan the whole family are thick. So no not all parents know best and they’re not always the best people to ask for advice or help.

+1 yParents do not always know the best. Nobody can know the best. But they have strong feelings because of the family bonds and have more life experiences of course.
00 Reply1.7K opinions shared on Family & Friends topic. Parents should be the individuals’ first stop. No one cares for you more than your parent. Nowhere else will one find an honest opinion for child’s best interest than from the parent.
