When I was about 16-27, I went frog gigging with my dad, and brother. We used a Hawaiin sling. We got a few. We weren't just doing it for fun. We ate them. I feel like It may be cruel because we likley didn't impale them so it was an instant death.

It's understandable to feel conflicted about past actions that involved catching and consuming animals. It's important to remember that sustainability and ethical treatment of animals should always be a priority.
In terms of frog gigging, it's a practice that can be considered inhumane as it can cause unnecessary suffering to the frog. If you decide to engage in any animal-related activities in the future, it's important to research and follow local laws and regulations, as well as to consider the impact and welfare of the animals involved.
It can also be helpful to educate others about the importance of ethical treatment of animals and work towards creating a more sustainable and humane world.
How would you feel about human gigging? Does this seem like a pleasant experience, even if you eat them?
To me hunting for food is quite a bit different from trophy hunting, and even in this situation you are questioning how ethical it might have been. That reveals good character.
