$1,000 is a lot of money to lose. I would definitely return the $1,000 to the owner. I would probably put it in a box and address it to the owner and mail it to them. I would state that I found this dollar amount I hope that life is better for them.
If it's possible to return it, i do give it back with everything in it. Money, ID cards etc... i know people who've taken the money and they threw away the ID cards and the rest... just wtf.
I would give it all... I would feel really bad taking something...

Id turn it in at a police station and let the person pick it up there. I wouldn’t keep any of the money cause I’ve seen karma will cause me to lose more than anything I take that is not mine.
@Sasha0426 Did I say I would take their driver licence as well? No. I would return it with half of the money. If someone would doesn't want to return the licence either then so be it, whoever finds anything doesn't owe it back - it's lost and found, not stolen. Although I have no idea what they could benefit from my licence but whatever, no one is obligated to return anything that is just found. And by the way money doesn't have an owner, is there their name printed on it? No.
Home > Family & Friends > Polls > You have just found a lost wallet with $1,000 cash inside and a drivers license of the person it belongs to. What would you do?

I’d give it back. My conscience would nag me to much if I took anything.
Definitely I would give it all back. I would take the money if it was, like, on the sidewalk of a public street with no one in sight.

Post it to him. Honor is a gift a man gives himself.
I would give the money and wallet back to them and contact local police and have them run their name on their license.
That's happened before but not as much cash. I'd give it back to them but only if it's the person on the ID
Return it. I don't want to risk charges for theft or witnesses seeing me taking someone else's money (unlike gold diggers).
If I needed the money I'd probably take it, but I am fortunate to be financially stable so they can have it all.
I’m honestly disgusted that I’m sharing this planet with people who think like you do. The first part, I mean.
Sounds like you've never been homeless or starving before.
I rather die from starvation than steal someone’s money. Honestly, the world would be better off if humans never existed.
Yeah, you've definitely had a pretty cushy life.
To be fair, that person earned that hard cash. It’s not their fault you’re homeless.
I mean, they saved that money to buy food and pay their rent. And for all you know, you had that person evicted from their home.

I would take it back to them or give it to the police
I would give it back. It's no fun to loose your documents.
I would call them and tell them I found the wallet.
I'd give it back and look for the cameras and John Quiñones.
Return it. However if I just found a grand lying on the street thats another story.

I would give everything back. I dont need 1000 dollars that badly. Here owning someone elses document is a crime.
I'd take 500 and mail the rest back. Sorry but not sorry.
Can someone do the same to you if it was reversed?
@Sasha0426 Yes I would expect so. I lost it so it's not mine anymore, can't blame anyone for taking it. It's our own responisibility.
I would just hope that it was spent for a good purpose (like I would).
Then I guess you don’t mind losing your driver’s license either. I mean, it’s not yours anymore and they got all your information 🤷♀️

I hope you lose your wallet to the point where someone causes you so much debt. And they steal your identity.
First option, and I would hope that someone would do the same for me if it ever happened
This is even a question?
You're generation scares me.
You do realize every generation was like this, right?
There IS no God.
