Neighbor I don't know asking for favors. How would you have handled this?

I dont know her personally. We say hello to each other like neighbors do in passing. Anyways, I come home to a note on my door from her stating ," It’s me, your neighbor im going to bermuda. Can I leave my keys with you and you watch my car? Also, can you pick me up from the airport on Monday? Call me my number is..."

Um, wtf 😆? I pretended not to see it and put it on another neighbors door.

So the neighbors door I put the note on took her to the airport 🤣😭. Anyways, that neighbors has no clue I put the note there but anyways , they regret helping her. They said she was rude & didn't even offer gas money, woke them up at 5am, and had them carry her bags smh

Wow, that is weird lol! Only bad part though is that she's going to know you put it on another neighbor's door. But yeah that is totally weird, and it sounds like you guys haven't even really spoken enough or gotten to know each other more for her to do that. In any case, you could've texted her or called and politely said you appreciate her trusting you but that you don't think you can do that. At least you're being decent and honest about the situation. And you don't want to be responsible if something happens to her car or keys.

I've left keys with a neighbor in case of an emergency- we've got a smart thermostat, leak sensors, and smart smoke alarms, etc so it's not to watch the house, but if something does go wrong, at least they can turn the water off, let a repair man in, etc if needed. I've also had neighbors leave keys with me for the same reason. We'll also get packages and and mail inside for each other.

So I don't know how she getting back from the airport bc the neighbor said she will never help her again.
