There's this woman, she my neighbor. When she first moved in, she had a boyfriend, but he lived in mexico, and I was head over heels for another girl.
At first she was very open. She was open to talk to me. There's was anything she would share. She even took interest in some of my activities. We became close friends. We would hang out with her and sister often. Going out to eat together and doing fun activities. She liked teasing me, being playful, and occasionally got touchy, but I never escalated anything.
Our mother's became friends at first, but then they started fighting. When my mother pulled away from them, so did I. For like a year I stopped talking to her. I even removed her from my friend's list on my social media.
Recently she negan asking for a favor. We've had some brief interactions, and we take our time to answer each other's messages. Sometimes she'll take a day or two to answer me, and so do I. She even surprised me by messaging me on Christmas.
It's been like 4 years since we met. The other day she asked me to pick her up from the bus stop, after returning from Mexico. When I saw her, she just looked stunning. She was kinda bashful, asking me for her car key since I was holding on for them. I couldn't shake the impression me made on me, so I decided to message her, saying that despite the 4 years we've known each other, I can't say I truly know her, and that I wanted to get to know her better. I didn't know what to ask her so I asked her if would share a childhood memory.
She never answered, and I know that should tell me she isn't interested. I don't have her attention like I used to. I know I should quit, but a part of me says I should make a genuine effort to win back her attention before quitting, to see how she behaves around me in person. Maybe she'll slowly open up to me again. Maybe she's not interested. I don't know what to do.
