Why does my friend get annoyed when I ask for his opinion?

So I asked my friend for his opinion because I’m looking to get a new pet so when I brought up two options he suggested one of the options I said I might get the other option and he gets an attitude with me, and says that I toy with him am I at fault here?

So, I think people don't like it when you ask them for an opinion but appear not to take their oppinion. Especially younger people.

When soliciting a view point, it's best to make clear your thinking up front, then ask them to share theirs. That way, it becomes about their thoughs on the matter, and you can give your positive thoughs on their opinion. See why they might hold it, but then after you've validated their choice, explain your final decision. You can also thank them and say its something for me to think about. That will leave them feeling heard (and then you can decide either way).
