My mother feels entitled to my daughter and I social security checks, why?

I have anxiety and depression and my daughter has ADHD, autism and ODD. My daughter was just diagnosed so this is an extra income but I'm not rich and the money is for whatever my daughter needs. My mother acts like she's entitled to both of our money just because she's done things that mothers and grandmother's should do. She doesn't help me, put me down and didn't support me when I had concerns my daughter had neurological issues. Yet her hand is always out. I'm a struggling single mom. My sister is much more educated and have more money and no kids. So why doesn't my mother ask her for money? And I've done nice things like gave my mother money before but she blows through it and wants more. She has a princess mentality at her age.

She is wrong. The only way she would be entitled to that money is id the government put her name on the checks, which is highly unlikely.

If you are living with your mother, it's reasonable for you to offer to help out with some things financially, but that's a voluntary thing that you determine the what and the amount.
