What to do when you don’t have true friends?

I have no real friends because they don’t support me, leave me alone on my birthday and even laugh at me for being assaulted.
What can I do to make better friendships?

Oh hun, I'm so sorry you're going through this. You definitely deserve so much better than "friends" who don't support or care about you. A few suggestions:

- Spend time doing activities you enjoy - art classes, sports, volunteering etc. You'll meet like-minded people.

- Join campus clubs or community groups based on your interests. Share conversations and you'll click with some.

- Put yourself out there - smile and say hi to kind-faced classmates. Compliment them - people love that!

- Quality over quantity. Focus on a select few who share laughs and make plans with you.

- Be confident in who you are. People gravitate towards those comfortable in their own skin.

- Follow your passion - it'll lead you to your people who "get you."

You could take a look at different groups or daytime clubs in your area. Just remember everyone who goes to them are in the same boat as you. SO, you might find a whole new friend base from it.
