I heard a story about my grandpa's friend who lived with his mum until he was 80 and she was 101. She died, he inherited her house and lived in it by himself until he died when he was 88.
Yes, normal is each generation passes the house onto the next.
If your mom gives you her house, you do not thank her by kicking her out.
And if you have kids, you do not force them to start the family success legacy all over again, you build that legacy over generations of ever growing inheretence, you have multiple generations in one big home. This was very common until recently.

WTf, I've never heard of this before. It is very unusual for a 80 year old to have a parent that is still alive let alone live with them.
getting up to the age of 101, or even 80 is just rare in itself. wow.
anyways, it's not my life and i stay out of others situations. i don't know why he stayed nor is it my business.
I find it odd if you are still at home any time past 21 and even 21 is really pushing it.
