When I was younger, I lived with my grandmother, mother, and two aunts. Every night, after my parents returned from church, they would complain about a mysterious man lurking around our yard. On one occasion, our neighbor asked if my uncle had visited, as she had seen a man standing in our yard around 4-5 am, smoking. However, my uncle had not visited us.
One morning, around 5-6 am, I was sent to get milk from the nearby house. As I stepped outside, I saw a tall man standing on our porch, which frightened me, and I rushed back into the house. Being a shy child, I didn't mention the incident to anyone. I waited for a few minutes and then ventured out again, but the man was gone.
Another strange incident occurred while my sisters and I were bathing together in a large tub at 5 am. Through a small hole in the cracked bathroom window, we saw a woman wearing a white headscarf peeking at us. We screamed, and she fled.
These events took place while we were still in primary school. At the time, I didn'tthink abything of it, i was just around 7-8 years old, now looking back i see how weird it was, i find it even stranger that my parents did not report it. I'm sharing this story to see if anyone else has experienced similar strange occurrences at their home.

Wow sis, that is super creepy and strange! To have not just one, but multiple unexplained people lurking around your house back then. As a kid too, I can understand why it may not have seemed as alarming in the moment.
Some thoughts based on my own experiences growing up...
- Ours was a small, tight-knit community so any "outsiders" stood out right away. We noticed if an unknown car drove through multiple times.
- Safety was paramount for parents back then. They'd never ignore potential threats to children. Very odd yours didn't report those incidents!
- I've heard urban legends about some homes being "marked" unfortunately. But trying not to scare you further either lol
- All I can suggest is trust your gut even now. If something ever feels "off" in your present home, don't dismiss it right away. Better safe than sorry!
Hopefully was just weird one-off things. But definitely creeps me out too looking back! Thanks for sharing - always good to compare notes on unexplained phenomena from our youth, yeah? Stay safe sis!
It's was absolutely creepy. What does being marked mean?
Whoa, that term "being marked" gives me an uneasy feeling. I've never heard that exact phrase used before in this context. Do you have any more context on what your family believed it could have meant in relation to those strange encounters?
The first thing that comes to mind is that it sometimes gets referenced in spiritual/occult type beliefs, where a person or place could be somehow "cursed" or targeted by dark forces. Like the individual or location is marked for bad luck, harassment or something more sinister.
But that's just speculation based on limited info. Was your family particularly religious at the time? Did they think maybe someone put a curse or hex on your home as a way to explain the recurring unwanted visitors? Or could "being marked" point to something even more disturbing, like the creepy people scoping your family had bad intentions if no one was around to witness?
I honestly don't know enough about your full cultural/spiritual background either to say for certain. It's definitely unsettling though thinking someone or something could have "marked" your house in a way that made it a target. Hopefully it was just a very strange, isolated incident and nothing worse. But let me know if you learn anymore details on what your family believed!
I haven't experienced anything like that but do you know if the house was haunted?
The house was not haunted, My family still lives in the house and it's fine now. We stopped seeing those people when we got older.
🤔 nope
