This is exactly what just happened to my friend last week. She was minding her own business, walking her dog on a leash, well controlled.
Out of nowhere some other dog of similar size comes to attack her dog. Fortunately her dog is actually a powerful breed. During the fight, my friend fell down and has brusies. My friend's dog wouldn't let go of the other dog until others separated them.
Everyone else saw the other dog started it all (the instigator) meanwhile my friend's dog fought back and the other dog paid the price of messing with a strong breed, for dishing out a fight you can't win. Now the other dog owner wants to blame my friend and wants her dog euthanized. Honestly would you feel sorry for it?

Both dogs were of similar sizes but unfortunately for the other dog, it picked a fight it couldn't win.

I don't believe in having dogs euphonized unless they attack humans.. BUT, I would like to see owners of dogs who instigate fights with other dogs put down instead!
Indeed. The nerves of that irresponsible owner that wants my friend's dog euthanized and keeps ranting that it's an aggressive breed. Well prior to the fight, he was minding his own business, not bothering anyone. It only got ''aggressive'' when the other dog attacked him. The other owner is just upset that his dog lost the fight and was about to get destroyed more if they weren't separated. It's not my friend's fault that it chose a fight it couldn't win.
Nope,., I just hope the authorities see it that way!
Yes, luckily someone else had it recorded and other witnesses said the same thing. The owner is just salty about it. I'm willing to bet if his dog would've hurt a Chihuahua or another breed that's not a fighter, he would've gave lots of excuses and shown no empathy.
Nope. You pick a fight you get the consequences
Exactly. My friend knew very well it's a powerful breed with strong jaw grip so her dog was socialized with people, filled with exercises and trained early on (since he was a puppy) and there has never been any complaints about her dog being loose nor barking at others. She did everything a loving, responsible owner does. The dog would only attack if it's either attacked first or my friend and other closed ones are getting attacked/hurt.
Her dog is a sweetheart but obviously if he gets attacked, it's going to be a real struggle getting released from those jaws since he isn't letting go by then.
No, not really
