yes. it made me see that "maybe, we'll see, etc" always means no and it automatically puts me into a negative headspace when ever i wanted to ask questions because i just assume it'll always be "no". why not just be straight forward and tell the truth to a child?
When they do they always put effort into looking into it when possible. Absolutely never to simply get me off their back.
What does frustrate me is how often the answer is “not yet” when it comes to helping me. My dad’s job and my little sister’s special needs take priority over almost anything else. (Including for themselves, though. Not just over me.)
My dad is constantly busy and my little sister is constantly sick, so I feel stuck in life while desperately wanting my own life.
Mine always told me "Budeme o tom mluvit" or "We will talk about it."
Eventually I learned that meant no without saying no. They just wanted me to leave them alone.
My parents have no clue that I'm unemployed. I don't understand why I should ask them for help and worry them when it's my life. I'm an adult and responsible for it.
If it annoys you how your parents respond, then don't ask them - handle it yourself.

Yes, it really meant that the answer was no but they did not want to have a big argument with me.
I've said it to my kids on occasion but I mostly just trade with them. If they do x and y I'll do z.
Obviously, but now that I'm an adult it makes sense.
My mom (back in the 60's) would ALWAYS say those words to us kids
I never heard them say that.
My mother-in-law still does.
YEAH KINDA
