Do you guys believe that majority of or all families have trauma, dark secrets, history of sexual assault, molestation etc?

Everyone has trauma. Let’s just get that out of the way now.
Trauma is not indicative of the level of danger or pain a person experienced, but we have all experienced trauma in some way, shape, or form. Like 95% of your personality is trauma responses to whatever small or large social interactions you had in childhood.


Now, do I believe that every single family has some horrible murder-mystery worthy dark secret? Of course not. While abuse may be more common than we might realize, it’s not so common that it’s 50% of every household in the world. In the same vein, not every family is going to be healthy in their dynamics, maybe one of the parents didn’t do as “good” of a job as the other, maybe they just don’t get along with their kids, maybe siblings hold grudges against each other. But plenty of families have healthy dynamics that allow them to comfortably move around other family members without causing too great of an issue.

I believe lots do at least in some point over many generations. A lot of things were kept a secret, especially in the past, so there is no way of knowing for sure.
