Do you feel there are more female abusers than there are male abusers?

I feel there may be more, but the reason the numbers aren't showing is because it is way harder to prove a female abused you than it is a male, and also because it seems people don't take it seriously when a female is reported for abuse compared to when you report a male.

I've seen grown ass men, after a male student has reported a female teacher for abuse, make jokes online about how they wish the female teacher was their teacher when they were in school. It's like they don't seem to understand the seriousness of what the female teacher has done to the male students.

It's the same with males who are a victim of DV. It's seems so many women don't believe a man can be a victim. Instead I see comments online asking what the guy had done for the woman to have stabbed him, basically victim blaming. Yet when the roles are reversed, they are wanting the guy who committed DV dead.

More than there are male abusers? No. Not really but absolutely far more than most people expect.

Numbers on these things are always a little difficult to get. The more extreme ones list women as 1 in 3 having suffered abuse from a partner. Those same ones list men as 1 in 4 having suffered abuse from a partner. Both those numbers are frighteningly high. It is not a competition but a simple acknowledgement of how normal it is and how society needs ways to deal with it.

And if we want to take a male angle that is where things truly suck for men ane could do with more support for women too. There are very few places to turn. Shelters, helplines, you name it. There are almost none for men despite men being victims nearly, not quite, as often.

So we absolutely need more ways to help men in need. It is far more common than people think.
We do not need a false narrative of being a greater victim for it. But I don't blame you. People expect it nearly never happens abd it happens a lot, your viewpoint of it beinh a n under the radar crime is very valid. Everyone deserves help. Not just whoever is targeted the most.

I suspect so, especially if you just count abuse as a yes/no thing, rather than requiring limits. Why is a very simple question- women aren't taken seriously, even as predators. Domestic abuse among lesbian couples is horrifyingly high; the result of a lifetime of hearing "it doesn't matter what you do; you're just a woman". Rates are much lower among straight couples, and almost nonexistent among gay men.

This is a huge part of what turned the Feminist movement against Erin Pizzey, and forced her out of the UK (she came back eventually, because she's a badass, but she's still banned from the organization she created).

The other reason that male abusers are seen as so much worse is because they usually go MUCH further- but that's not just because men are innately more violent, but because we spend our lives being held accountable for everything that happens to us, so when get violent, we GET VIOLENT.

No but there are higher numbers then we think!

Really usually women are not aggressive men are normally which is why there are rarely women serial killers!

Are we crazy yes who force our way for things yes but guys are way more likely to abuse us then we are of them.

Also way harder for women to get spots of power to for a man into something.

Besides a lot of those online stories are fake news and how often is it really on TV? The internet loves making abuse stories about women cause of the attention!

Jordan Peterson said women hit men twice as often as men hit women but men hit women 4x harder then how hard women hit men. I would say low scale abuse is more common among women aggressors and high scale abuse is more common among male aggressors. So there are more women that gossip and humiliate people and there are more men who kill and injure people but gossip might be 80 times more common than killing or injury.

Men are more likely than women to be sexual abusers. That's just a fact of human nature.

But domestic violence is a different story. Women are actually more likely than men to be domestic abuser. That has always been the case, but in the past it was even more rare than it is today for men to report it. It's still rare, but becoming less so as the stigma associated with male victims of female violence is less severe now.

With domestic abuse, it's hard to known for sure... a lot of the time it's both the man and woman who take turns being the abuser and then take turns playing the victim.
