If you wanted one last child but instead it's 2-4 babies, how would you take that news?

This married couple that I know of has 2 children (ages 5 and 7). They wanted one last child, just one. Her 3rd and last pregnancy is triplets. Initially they weren't happy about it. They wanted their 3rd and last child, not child 3, 4 and 5.

How would you take that news if you only wanted one last child (just one) but instead you get 2-4 babies?

It's interesting because I'm sort of in that scenario now

I'm trying to get pregnant. Ideally I'd like to have 2 more kids. Consequently, if I got pregnant with twins this time I'd just think 'perfect! That's what I wanted'

But, let's say that I have triplets instead. Or let's say that I get pregnant again (something I'm going to try to do after this one) and it turns out to be twins. What will I do then

Well, I might honestly be a bit disappointed at first and super overwhelmed. I love my kids, but there's a reason why I think I'm going to want to stop at 4 kids. Children are a lot of work, and I think that's going to cap for me at 4

However, I also love all of my kids beyond words. My family is my life. I think that if I had one more kid then I was expecting I'd still end up loving him/her tremendously, and in years time I may not want to have it any other way

Still, I think I still would prefer to stick with 4 kids. haha

I want to have more kids. I'm currently working on getting pregnant.
I'd like to have a boy since both my kids are girls

@JohnK123 Sometimes getting pregnant takes time. And before we were trying to make sure I didn't get pregnant.

The guy is 28, so he's quite a bit younger than me.

I suppose that it's good. I didn't date him because he's younger. I just happened to fall in love with a man that's quite a bit younger.

@JohnK123 I'm 40, so I realize I don't have a lot of time before I can't get pregnant again, so if I want two more kids I've really got to get pregnant twice pretty fast (and, in all honesty, might need to get a bit lucky).

@JohnK123 Just having a lot of sex, especially when I'm ovulating (which I'm already doing. haha)

Also, keeping yourself in good/healthy shape, which I already do.

I also take prenatal vitamins

yeah, they're ok with the situation now. They just had to expand the room more and buy more baby things. If a child is expensive, I can't imagine 3 babies.
