While some infertile people would die to have a child, others kills their babies, is the world messed up?

On the news, there are so many babies and toddlers killed by the very person that brought them to life. How can you give birth or father a human (your own flesh and blood), only to kill them? Either that or beaten to death by the person's boyfriend/girlfriend. Or babies found thrown in dumpsters with the umbilical cord still attached.

Yet somewhere out there, some infertile people would die to have a child, to hold that baby in their arms and provide the love they need. Meanwhile some people that breed like crazy abused or killed their babies and others have been struggling to conceive for years.

Is the world messed up?

Frankly, I think anyone that kills their babies or toddlers, instead of giving them up for adoption (do others a favor, others can't have kids... you don't want your child, give others a chance) should face a life sentence without parole.

There are five things that impacts someone regard to human life (including their own children).

• Their upbringing. How their parents raised them has a huge impact on this.
• Their faith or lack thereof in a higher power.
• Genetics (to a certain extent). Some people are less empathetic then others.
• Their environment, local communities and social circles.
• Last but not least some people are sociopaths and/or psychopaths. A person with this mental condition has little or no empathy for others. They will keep a child if it improved their own social standing or get rid of it if it hinders them. The character Daniel Day Lewis plays in the 2007 movie “There will be blood” exemplifies this mental condition perfectly.

Or either that the mass media likes to fixate on these incidents to demonize religion as a whole. Look at the westboro church. They have only a 100 members but they were constantly were in the mass media sense they were openly homophobic.

Anyway not to say say twisted nut jobs don’t exist. But are parents who are supportive of “transitioning” their girl to a boy or their boy to a girl (by surgically mitigating them) well known for being “religious”?

Adoption is not an alternative for abortion.

Adoption is literally buying children. In the USA it can cost upwards of 45k for a domestic child, double if they are white (high demand).

Adopted children are 4x more likely to commit suicide than non adopted children. Family medical history is almost impossible to get a hold of. People want to adopt babies, new borns not toddlers, children, or teenagers. Because then at least they don't have to deal with the trauma that comes from being adopted for a decade or so. No mental health support is offered or even recommended to adopters, adoptees or the birth parent (s) who gave the child up for adoption.

It's not a smooth sailing easy process. It's incredibly unattainable financially for majority of people to go through.

Susan Smith was indeed a horrible case. She so called ''mother'' drowned both her 3 year-old and 1 year-old.. instead of either giving the father full custody or giving them up for someone else.

Are you talking abortion or acutal baby murderers. There is a difference. Also you have to remember that some people have experienced both like I've wanted abortions and have also struggled with infertility/miscarriages. Life isn't all that one sided. Everyone goes through ups and downs. Obviously legitimate baby murderers are crazy tho like just leave your kid at the fire station or something instead of killing it.

Actual murder such as the Susan Smith case. She lied about a black man kidnapping her children (a 3 year-old toddler and a 1 year-old baby) and it wasn't true. She rolled the car over, watching them drowning on the lake as they were crying and screaming.

Those babies could've been given up for adoption if the mother didn't want them anymore.

That is terrible but some women go through postpartum psychosis so they literally go insane after having kids so those kind of terrible things happen

It might be hard for others to understand if they've never been through it. I've experienced postpartum depression, anxiety and rage. Never got to psychosis tho. Thank God but that stuff is uncontrollable and there isn't much resources out there to help those mothers

That's why they always tell you to call the police if you feel like shaking the baby or having those symptoms. They still had the option to call.

That's when the kids either need to be given to the father (esp if he's a loving dad) or another caregiver; could be any member of the family, a friend, neighbor, anyone available.

That can acutally make it worse. I know in some other countries there are treatment places for moms and they can take their babies but those are rare and not in the US

Actually, this is partly due to the fact that the options for getting news have become easier.

Bad things would happen in the world but it wouldn't be news. And only bad events experience on tv/news, no good events.

To answer Your question in a conscise way - yes, the world is messed up. And well... I cannot really add anything useful to Your diagnosis... I'm just going to vote for the death penalty instead of a life without a parole - why should the taxpayers feed a murderer? Well... Maybe as long as the murderer has to work for their living, it might make some sense to incarcerate them, but I cannot really find a viable moral reason to keep a murderer alive.

The reason I said a life sentence is because just killing them is too easy. They're already dead and aren't paying the price for what they did vs if they're alive and know they'll never see the light of another day ever again. They're indeed punished in the most harsh way possible, the elimination of their own freedom.

I have an even better creative idea. Not only are they sentenced for life but their cells are permanently decorated with photes and paintings of the baby or toddler he/she killed, not to be removed for all their cellmates to see every single day.

It does. If someone doesn't want the child anymore (let's say a 1 year-old baby), then explain that to the cops and give them away. That's way better than abusing or killing them.
