High five a good way to break the touch barrier?

So I high fived the guy I like today while we were talking. Is it a good first step? I don't want him to think I'm 'friend-zoning' him, but I don't want to be too out there about it. Suggestions/comments?

Just be gentle and wait till he is ready but help him out a bit. I have never been on a date so I have no girl experience

I think that was a good first step. But make sure you kick it up a notch, touching is very important with flirting.
