Yes. Of course! They'll forage or make something.
No. Parents should prepare meals even for teens.
It depends
I'm Gen X. Ik the drill. Cereal is just fine!

Trending & News Absolutely believe that you sign on to provide for your children in every way at least until they are adults, which to my eyes is 18 .
I also believe that parenting never actually ends. Whether the kid is 10, 20 or 60 they are still your kid.
As for your example? If it is just telling the teen to cook their own food today, or to order some? That's fine. As long as you have provided the means of doing so.
Well i think parents should have taught their kids how to cook and help prepare meals them selves... so by the time they are teens they should be able to make themselves a dinner every once in a while. A parents job is to make their kids independent not dependent.
Yes, on occasion. A teenager is capable of getting off their arse and making something to eat, using ingredients in the house. Sometimes parents need a break from cooking every night. I cooked my own meal once per week in my teens, my mum had every Friday off from cooking dinner.
I was making my own meals from the age of 8 or even earlier. It was either that or don't eat at all. You can soon learn how to cook when you have no other choice.

Maybe not necessarily those exact words, but if you're a teenager, and can't feed yourself, well... Darwin wouldn't like you very much.
That's operating under the supposition that there's some form of edible food in the house, at least. Even a teenager should be able to make a PB&J or cook freaking Mac & Cheese.
If it is one meal and they know their teen well enough when yeah.
If the teen has an issue / disability that makes them incapable of getting / making their own meal then that would be a problem.
That was my story as a kid lol My mom did help most of the time. My job was to help her in the house and my brother's would help my dad outside.
As long as it's not a frequent thing yea. Making them get their own lunch at that age is fine as long as you keep around enough food to let them make something.
If there is food in the house, that the teens can make, then sure that's acceptable. Occasionally.
How old are the teens? 19 to 13 makes quite a difference , to my answer anyhow.
I could do for myself at 14 .
I'd probably have got chicken soup made from scratch and some cake. My eldest loves cooking!
my mother used give me a quarter and go to the diner.
You can take a nap and just cook dinner later or get takeout later or put in a TV dinner if you’re exhausted that day
Parents should always make sure their children are properly fed
But teens are capable no?
depend on your childhood and home stability
Yes, of course. Unless they're retarded.
that's normal lol
